Primary Responsibilities: • Conducts research, design, and development of manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly methods, and production equipment. • Creates and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment. • Coordinates the launch of new/revised products in manufacturing, setting goals, training team members, and evaluating outcomes. • Develops manning plans based on volume forecasts for new programs. • Offers input on product design based on design for manufacture/design for assembly principles. • Designs, develops, tests, and sources tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods. • Analyzes products/processes for cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency enhancements. • Develops and documents quality systems for new programs, including control plans, PFMEA, process flow, work instructions, and inspection plans. • Manages and documents Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities. • Calculates required dunnage usage and designs, tests, and orders necessary dunnage for new programs. • Maintains documentation on downtime, scrap, and efficiencies. • Uses data on downtime, scrap, efficiencies, etc. to plan countermeasures for equipment and process issues. • Leads or participates in Kaizen activities for continuous improvement in processes, products, components, raw materials, and equipment. Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with 3-5 years of engineering experience. Experience in automotive manufacturing industry preferred. Will consider under 3 years of experience at a lower salary as a Production Engineer level 1. • Must have experience with CNC machining, preferably in plastic injection molding and automated high-volume assembly. • Technical proficiency in manufacturing processes, flow, layout, assembly, and production equipment. • Strong problem analysis and resolution skills. • Familiarity with current automotive standards and OSHA regulations. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Outstanding organizational abilities. • Ability to motivate teams to achieve goals. • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
