Pay Range: $22.25 - $34.24/hour (based on experience) Total Rewards You’ll Love: • Annual Bonus Program for All Employees • Annual Wage Increases • * ️ Shift Premium: $2.50/hour for 2nd Shift or 3rd shift • 11 Paid Holidays + 3 Paid Break Days • Generous PTO (Vacation & Flex Time) • Affordable Health Insurance (PPO & HSA Options) • Low/No-Cost Dental & Vision Coverage • ️ Accident, Critical Illness, and Hospital Coverage Options ‍‍‍ • Company-Paid Life, Short-Term & Long-Term Disability • 401(k) with Company Match + Annual Profit Sharing Now Hiring: CNC Machine Center Operator for 1st shift What You’ll Do: • Set up and operate CNC Milling Machine Centers to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling, etc. • Understands specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, etc. • Translates instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function • Prepares and loads raw materials and parts onto the machines • Prepares a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications • Sets machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts • Supervises the machines while they execute the tasks and makes any necessary adjustments to produce a better result • Inspects and measures finished products and compares them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly • Checks and maintains machinery daily to ensure functionality • What We’re Looking For: • Ability to read gauges and tape measures • Ability to operate overhead cranes • Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time • Professional Certification is a plus • Proven experience as CNC Milling Machine Center Operator (preferred) • Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools • Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings • Mechanical aptitude and good math skills • A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach • Good communication abilities Why Join SMF? Overview Our client, Wise Business Forms, is a leading manufacturer of labels, business forms, and digital printing. Their core focus is on building strong relationships with distributors of printed products. Founded in 1969, Wise operates five regional manufacturing facilities located in Georgia, Indiana, Maine, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina, serving the eastern half of the United States. Summary Wise is seeking motivated Machine Operators to join our growing production team. In this role, you will set up, operate, and maintain multi-unit web presses to produce high-quality printed documents that meet customer specifications. This position requires mechanical aptitude, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. While prior printing press experience is preferred, we are willing to train candidates with a strong work ethic and the desire to learn a skilled trade.  Roles & Responsibilities: • Set up, operate, and monitor multi-unit web presses to ensure jobs meet customer specifications. • Review job tickets, proofs, and work orders for accuracy and adjust press operations as needed. • Mount printing plates, set ink, and operate auxiliary equipment (perforating, punching, numbering). • Inspect printed materials throughout runs, perform quality checks, and make necessary adjustments. • Maintain dimensional accuracy, color consistency, and print quality during press runs. • Perform minor maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and conduct safety inspections. • Track production, document problems, and ensure efficient workflow. • Gather supplies and prepare for upcoming orders while presses are running. • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings. • Perform other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications: • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. • Ability to read and interpret job tickets, specifications, and measuring tools (must be able to read a ruler). • Keen attention to detail and ability to stay focused during long press runs. • Effective communication skills and the ability to follow directions or work independently. Physical ability to: • Stand continuously for 8–10 hours. • Routinely lift up to 50 lbs and position mill paper rolls to mount on the press, weighing up to 600 lbs (with assistance/equipment). • Perform repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy and safety. • Knowledge of printing industry equipment, practices, and safety precautions preferred. • Willingness to work overtime as needed. • Reliable attendance and punctuality are required.
