Counter Salesperson Responsibilities: Deliver an excellent customer experience by understanding and meeting customer needs. • Maintain thorough knowledge of warehouse layout, bin systems, and product types. • Assist customers by answering questions, processing sales orders, expediting backorders, and coordinating special or nonstock purchases/transfers. • Pick and assemble customer orders within one hour of printing; handle all materials with care to prevent errors or damage. • Verify accuracy of orders to prevent shipping or inventory errors; clearly mark all pick-up orders with customer name and carton count. • Stage completed orders in designated bin locations and complete all required order/credit documentation. • Operate material handling equipment safely and in compliance with regulations. • Support warehouse and sales counter operations through stocking, cleaning, and maintaining displays. • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers; assist with product promotions and displays. • Provide backup support to warehouse and other team members as needed. • Maintain regular, reliable attendance and follow all safety procedures. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Maintain a professional image as a company representative. • Strong communication, interpersonal, customer service, negotiation, and sales skills. • Excellent judgment, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in changing environments. • Understanding of basic financial concepts, including margins, profit, and discounts. • Ability to read and interpret simple instructions, correspondence, and memos. • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) with or without a calculator. • Proficient with standard office equipment and computer systems; working knowledge of Eclipse preferred. • Knowledge of Plumbing/Waterworks products and their applications. Education and/or Experience: • High School Diploma or equivalent experience. Certifications and/or Licenses: • Ability to pass operator exam and drive powered industrial equipment. • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record may be required to drive for business.
