Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties: KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of relevant plumbing, pipefitting, and HVAC system installations, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance including air handling units, pumping systems, air compressors, steam and hot water systems, steam traps, domestic water systems, plumbing fixtures, heat exchangers, etc. Knowledge of building and construction materials, methods, and tools involved in construction. Knowledge of plumbing, mechanical and ventilation codes and design and engineering principles involved in production of technical plans and drawings. General knowledge of building structural systems and electrical systems operations. Working knowledge of computer applications (e.g., word processing, email, internet, web-based programs). SKILLS: Equipment operation monitoring, troubleshooting, diagnosis, installation, maintenance, and repair. Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively deal with a broad variety of people and prepare quality correspondence. Excellent critical thinking skills and good judgment; able to effectively analyze situations and solve problems. Effective interpersonal skills; able to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Strong organizational skills; able to prioritize, plan work, and handle multiple tasks.
