Ballard’s Plumbing & Heating is currently searching for a HVAC Service Technician with commercial refrigeration experience. We have a service department provides 24 hour plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration service. Since being established in 1952, Ballard’s Plumbing and Heating has been meeting the plumbing, heating and air conditioning service needs of Northwest Michigan’s commercial, light industrial, municipal, and residential customers. Ballard’s is a Trane dealer located in Petoskey, Michigan. As a HVAC Technician you will be part of our service department maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing refrigeration and HVAC equipment; responding to emergency service during or after hours; and performing equipment start ups. QUALIFICATIONS: • EPA Universal Certified. • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.. • Strong knowledge of refrigeration troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance. • Strong knowledge of HVAC troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance. • Knowledge of electricity, building controls, and facility management systems. • Ability to read, understand, and work from blueprints, specifications, and schematics. • Commercial, institutional, and industrial HVAC service experience desired. • Physically able to climb ladders and to lift objects up to 100 pounds. • NATE Refrigeration Certification. DUTIES: • Inspect, repair, maintain HVAC equipment including refrigeration and air conditioning compressors, receivers, condensers, chillers, water cooling towers, forced air units, and boilers • Conduct regular preventive maintenance inspections of refrigeration units, heating and ventilating units, boilers, air conditioning equipment; • Repair or replace defective parts in units and equipment and their controls, • Operate a motor vehicle; maintain equipment in safe working condition; and maintain vehicle parts and tool inventory. • Maintain related records concerning time, labor and materials; • Perform other duties as assigned.
