Responsibilities • Repair & maintain Commercial HVAC systems at UNC Hospital & UNC offsite locations around the triangle. • Conduct routine inspections and perform preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure efficient operation. • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with HVAC systems ,This requires critical thinking and not just calling it a part and walking away. Have to have a strong background in reading schematics and knowing how to isolate the problem to know for certain its the problem. • Perform all aspects of repairing Centrifical Chillers, boilers, cooling towers, pumps, motors, controls, VAV boxes, FCU's , DX systems, MUA units, Exhaust Fans, etc. • Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients regarding their HVAC needs and solutions. • Dress Appropriately with neat clean apperance as we are in the hospitals. • Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used during repairs. • Drive a brand new bad ass mercedes van decked out with newest milwaulkie packouts loaded with the best tools money can buy to make you sucessful. You havent seen a van on the road like what I outfit my guys with but you better take pride in keeping it looking good. No sloppy vans here! Skills • Proficient in property maintenance with a solid understanding of HVAC/R systems. • Experience as a field service technician with hands-on troubleshooting skills. • Ability to read and interpret schematics related to HVAC systems. • Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail in diagnosing issues. • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members. How will you do it We provide factory certification through our Service Technical Academy (STA) with milestone recognition and monetary rewards and advancement. You will have direct access to Factory Technical Support. We will equip you with the safety equipment, uniforms, tools, cell phone, technical equipment and vehicle required for your job. Servicemen must have two years practical working experience in residential, light commercial or commercial mechanical equipment. You may be required to satisfactorily pass an examination to identify your skills and knowledge. Servicemen may assist Journeymen in the repair and service of centrifugal, absorption, screw and scroll chillers. What we look for Required • Adherence to the company Safety Program. • High School Diploma or equivalent. • Two (2) years Commercial and/or industrial, mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry. • Demonstrated knowledge of the maintenance and repair of three phase Commercial HVAC equipment, RTU’s, Heat Pumps and Fans. • A valid driver’s license. • EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification required. • Good verbal and written communication skills. • Be willing to join the UA of Plumbers and Pipefitters. Preferred • Five (5) years of Commercial and or industrial work experience in the HVAC industry. • Demonstrated knowledge of the maintenance and minor repair pumps, VFD’s, Air Handling Units, and Rooftop units.
