HVAC Technician

Job Overview . About the Role: A private ranch located in Okeechobee, FL is seeking a skilled and reliable HVAC Technician to join our facilities team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the monthly, quarterly, and annual maintenance of over 50 HVAC units located throughout the ranch, including residential, guest, agricultural, and operational buildings. This position requires an experienced, hands-on professional with a strong work ethic and the ability to operate independently. The technician will report to the Property Manager and work closely with other maintenance staff to ensure all HVAC systems remain in optimal condition year-round. Key Responsibilities: • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual inspections and maintenance of over 50 HVAC units (including split systems, packaged units, mini-splits, dehumidifiers and ventilation systems). • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair HVAC system issues including electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant-related problems. • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and service records for all units on the property. • Replace air filters, belts, motors, and other system components as required. • Conduct system performance tests and verify proper system operation. • Monitor and ensure proper operation of thermostats, zone systems, and smart controls. • Schedule and oversee system upgrades, replacements, or large-scale repairs when necessary. • Comply with all safety protocols and regulatory requirements, including EPA guidelines for refrigerant handling. • Provide emergency HVAC support as needed, including weekends or after-hours if critical systems fail. Qualifications: • Minimum 5 years of HVAC experience, preferably with a wide variety of residential and light commercial systems. • HVAC certification (EPA Section 608 Universal Certification required). • Technical training from an accredited HVAC program preferred. • Valid Florida driver’s license and clean driving record. • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. • Ability to work independently and manage a routine preventive maintenance schedule. • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. • Experience with smart thermostats and building automation systems a plus.
