This position will report full time in the field around Central Florida. HVAC Technician Job Responsibilities: Serving as a member of the Meridian Mechanical team to conduct HVAC/R jobs promptly and efficiently. Performing routine HVAC/R service activities without direct oversight or on-site assistance. Ability to communicate with internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner. Ability to work under time constraints, non-standard schedule, weather, and customers’ needs. Ability to conducting non-service work in support of the construction team as assigned. Perform related duties as assigned by the Field Supervisor or Operations Team. Travel and or overnight stays may be asked by the Field Supervisor or Operations Team. The Meridian Mechanical Service Team participates in a weekly on call rotation. Basic smart device knowledge, use of tablet and or smart phone daily. Safe driving activities at all times. Your responsibilities include: Installation Duties: • Perform pipefitting, brazing, and soldering for seamless refrigerant piping connections. • Troubleshoot installation challenges to ensure system functionality. • Maintain accurate measurements and fittings for high-quality installations. • Collaborate with dispatchers, coordinators, and supervisors for seamless project execution. • Adhere to safety protocols, industry standards, and company guidelines. • Complete work orders and service reports accurately and promptly. • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, and schematics. Service Duties: • Conduct routine maintenance, repairs, and equipment changeouts on commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems. • Service heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems, and ice machines. • Perform preventative maintenance and recommend repairs to minimize downtime. • Respond to emergency service requests with professionalism and urgency. • Provide facility condition assessments and recommend enhancements. • Work independently with minimal supervision while delivering exceptional customer service. Preferred: • Completion of a relevant HVAC apprenticeship, Journeyman's license, or technical training program. Physical Requirements: • Climb and descend ladders while carrying up to 30 lbs. • Lift up to 75 lbs. and maneuver in confined spaces (e.g., crawlspaces, attics). • Willingness to wear required PPE. Additional Requirements: • Flexibility to work overtime and travel across the state and neighboring states (with overnight stays) for training, meetings, or client-site visits. • Ability to meet enhanced security clearance requirements.
