The Housing Department provides safe and sustainable housing opportunities that preserves and expand the communities of the Seminole Tribe of Florida. The Housing Department provide homeownership opportunities, emergency home repairs and rental housing for Tribal Members through a variety of programs. We are looking for someone with a HVAC specialty however all our work is Residential, so you may be needed to assist with variety of duties such as electrical, plumbing, dry wall repair, putting up hurricane shutters, etc. The staff schedule is full-time Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm plus a monthly on-call rotation for afterhours and weekends. Position Summary The incumbent in this position performs a wide variety of skilled tasks involved in the maintenance and repair of ventilation, heating and air conditioning units related to the care and maintenance of STOF residences, buildings and facilities. Qualifications / Requirements High school diploma or GED equivalent is required. Appropriate specialized training in the skills needed in heating and air-conditioning systems repair and installation is required. A minimum of four (4) years of journeyman experience in heating, air-conditioning and energy management, two of which were spent in commercial HVAC is required. Possession of an EPA Refrigerant Technician Type I and II certification is preferred. Possession of an EPA Refrigerant Technician Universal certification within six months of the date of appointment is recommended. Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s license. Ability to travel to all STOF Reservations and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays; and be on call 24/7 for emergencies is a requirement of this position.
