HVAC Refrigeration Specialist

Please note that this position is based on our campus in Madison, WI, and requires relocation to the area. We recruit nationally and provide financial relocation assistance. We're seeking a skilled and reliable Commercial Kitchen Equipment and Refrigeration Technician to ensure our state-of-the-art kitchens and onsite bakeries operate at peak performance. In this essential role, you'll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of commercial kitchen appliances, refrigeration systems, and HVAC equipment for our 9 million square foot campus. Your expertise will help prevent equipment failures, minimize downtime, and support the seamless operation of our world-class culinary team. Key Responsibilities • Diagnose, repair, and maintain HVAC, refrigeration, and commercial cooking equipment • Install, calibrate, and optimize kitchen ventilation and appliance systems • Conduct preventive maintenance and safety inspections • Ensure compliance with OSHA, refrigeration, gas, and electrical safety standards • Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to resolve technical issues Core Equipment You'll Work On • Refrigeration: Walk-in coolers/freezers, blast chillers, ice machines • Cooking Equipment: Commercial ovens, fryers, steam kettles, tilt skillets • Ventilation & HVAC: Exhaust hoods, rooftop HVAC units, make-up air systems • Dishwashing & Sanitation: High-capacity dishwashers, automated sanitation systems Live affordably in a city known for its rising tech talent. Enter and close work orders via the Service software platform. • Operate a variety of tools and machines incidental to operations. • Requisition of repair parts and equipment. • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedure • Always adhere to all safety and vehicle related policies, and comply with Company policy and standards • Represent the company on customer locations/sites for service work in the regional area. • Perform additional assignments and responsibilities as assigned. THE QUALIFICATIONS: • Two-year HVAC technical school degree, or years associated experience for Journeyman. • Working knowledge of HVAC-R equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications, and required standards applicable to discipline. • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to effectively represent the company in an ethical and professional manner and consistent with our values and mission. • Flexibility to work varying shifts; weekends, holidays and emergency on-call as needed. • Valid State Driver’s license, and able to travel to customer locations. • Ability to learn and use a Jamar software platform. • Must join local 11 Certification, License, Registration: • CFC/EPA Universal Certification Pay Range: • Wages and other benefits are paid in accordance with the Local #11 Collective Bargaining Agreement. • $40 -$45 per hour depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
