TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Service Employees Association Salary Range: $30.95 - $35.12 per hour, with a package total of up to $56.26 per hour including benefits. 39 total accrued paid days off per year (sick, vacation and holidays). 12 months per year Monday-Friday (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM) Grand Rapids Area Schools offers a comprehensive benefits package. The district offers contributions toward medical insurance including a health savings account. The district offers paid time off including sick leave, vacation leave, and paid holidays. District paid life insurance and long-term disability insurance are available to full-time employees. BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES: In cooperation with the Director of Facilities, Monitoring the daily operation of all district automation systems to maintain the comfort of building occupants and ensure efficient energy usage; Ensuring proficient performance of the building automation systems and making modifications to its operational parameters as appropriate; Troubleshooting the operational failure of electrical and mechanical equipment, including but not limited to heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, boilers, electrical, and pneumatic controls; Installing and repairing control components for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment; Troubleshooting possible issues, including identifying and debugging software, electrical, pneumatic, and installation problems. Selecting product sizes, types, and location placement to ensure products meet specification requirements; Preparing database and job-related programming for computer-based systems; Responding to emergency calls for repair needs or questions. A Typical Day in the Life of an HVAC Outside Sales Account Manager at DSG: • Travel up to 125 miles of branch to establish, manage, and maintain strong customer relationships and accounts by providing stellar customer service, including responding to and calling on customers as necessary • Work with our Inside Sales Associates to identify, prioritize, and implement initiatives that will improve customer satisfaction and territory growth • Seek and develop new customer opportunities and accounts • Introduce, promote, and demonstrate new products and marketing programs • Correspond with Branch Manager and Purchasing Agents on changes in product demands • Act as a facilitator for the customer ordering process, including: processing all types of customer orders, correcting orders, responding to open order and back order inquiries, responding to customer requests for product returns, and suggesting changes for improving the overall order process A Successful Segment Outside Sales Account Manager Typically Has: • A high School diploma or equivalent; postsecondary degree is preferred. • A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (required). • Product and technical knowledge normally acquired in two or more years of college or technical school OR 3-5 years field experience in the residential/commercial applications of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) products. • Strong sales skills, with a proven track record of successful territory development. • 3-5 years of sales experience. • Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to multitask in order to effectively prioritize and manage workflow. • A strong attention to detail and ability to follow-through/follow-up. • A general understanding of HVAC software and programs to help customers with designs and rebates. • Familiarity with DSG Web Commerce and the ability to instruct customers on its uses. • Excellent time management skills.
