Residential and Commercial HVAC Technician

Service HVAC Technician Location: In person (Multiple locations) Job Type: Full-time, On-call, Overtime available Why You’ll Love This Role Step into J&RS’s Service Department as an HVAC Technician and experience a role that combines diagnostic challenges with hands-on repairs. You’ll spend your days running service calls—everything from vacuum-down mini-split systems to installing ductwork or radiant tubing. Key Responsibilities • Perform service calls: diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and commercial HVAC systems • Set up and operate vacuum pumps, gauges, and leak-detection equipment • Install new ductwork, refrigerant lines, and system components • Support retrofit and remodel projects by installing mini-split indoor/outdoor units • Adhere to safety regulations and maintain an organized, professional worksite • Clearly communicate findings and recommendations to customers • Keep all company tools, meters, and trucks well-maintained What We’re Looking For • 4+ years of hands-on HVAC service experience • If you have less than 4 years of plumbing & HVAC experience, that's okay! Job Description The ideal candidate for HVAC/R Technician will have a solid background in the HVAC and the Refrigeration industry and will be experienced in the commercial and/or industrial industry. Job Duties: • Installs, services, and repairs refrigeration and hvac equipment and systems. • Diagnoses problems and/or failures in refrigeration and hvac systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and replacement needs. • Performs routine and preventive maintenance as needed and/or assigned for the purpose of ensuring the ongoing functioning of refrigeration and hvac systems. • Coordinates with administration and other trades for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently. Job Requirements: • 5 years of commercial refrigeration service experience. • Experience in repairing and maintaining supermarket rack systems, walk-in/reach-in freezers and coolers, refrigerated serving lines, ice machines. • EPA Type I & II required.
