FMM is a maintenance and construction company servicing both residential and commercial clients nationwide. Job Summary: This is a contract position lasting approximately 4 months in Lubbock, TX with the possibility of a travel position after job completion. Responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing, or installing electrical components in a residential or commercial setting. Technician may be assigned to one or multiple jobs and must be available for after-hour emergency calls on occasion. Essential Job Duties: (Included but not limited to) • Must possess the ability to plan the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes. • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. • Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system. • Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps. • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes. • Place conduit and pipes, in walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes. • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. • Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things. • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in accordance with local, state, and national electrical codes. • Perform electrical inspections and troubleshoot electrical issues. • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams. • Install and connect wiring, outlets, switches, and fixtures. • Test electrical systems for functionality and safety • Collaborate with other tradespeople to complete projects on time and within budget. • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean work area. • Pre-job and Pre-task Planning • Identify behavior and conditions, which jeopardize the safety of others • Question the need for additional safety precautions, if believed to be necessary for the safe completion of the job. • Inspect all tools and equipment before each use to ensure good working conditions. • Comply with site safety rules by following procedures and by wearing the prescribed PPE. • Never take directions or changes to assigned work from Client personnel without first checking with the Supervisor. • Attend daily toolbox safety meetings and scheduled training sessions. • Inspect their work site continuously to ensure that unsafe conditions do not exist.
