The Maintenance Technician 2 sets up and operates a variety of tools, fits and assembles parts to fabricate or repair and maintain machines. Performs preventative maintenance on machines. This position requires basic electrical knowledge, advanced mechanical skills, light fabricating, and knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems and how to repair. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION: • Observes and listens to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunction and determine the need for adjustment or repair. • Studies blueprints, sketches, machine parts or specifications to determine type and dimensions of metal stock required. • Move existing equipment and set up new equipment when needed. • Dismantles machine or equipment to examine parts for defects or to remove defective parts. • Replaces defective parts with new part or repairs or reproduces part from various kinds of metal stock. • Assembles and test machines to verify correction of malfunction. • Maintains and lubricates machine tools and equipment. • Monitor and audit equipment performance, perform calibrations and preventative maintenance. • Install plumbing and fittings. • Install electrical conduit and electrical conductors in accordance with local, state, and federal codes. NFPA. • Install pneumatic and hydraulic hoses, fittings. • Lifts heavy objects, up to 70 lbs. by hand. • Must obtain a forklift license and ariel lift license. • Regular and predictable attendance. • Comply with company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations. • Additional duties as assigned.
