What We’re Looking For We are currently hiring a full-time Electrician. The Electrician will report to the Electrical Manager and will implement and oversee all electrical aspects of the plant and related equipment. As an Electrician, you will install, maintain, and repair packaging, processing, and facility electrical systems. As well as exercising independent judgement in determining operating conditions, malfunctions (troubleshooting), repairs and emergency situations. It is imperative that the candidate selected demonstrates a thorough knowledge of electrical theory, practices, procedures, equipment, tools, and materials. Should have experience in machine and motor repair, building maintenance, panel wiring, computer use, computer networking, and PLC knowledge and programming. What You Need To Be Successful • Degree from accredited 4-year college or electrical training institution in electronics, electrical theory, or closely related field and/or 5 years of recent, full-time experience in plant operations and maintenance in a similar production environment, preferably food processing, with responsibility as a journeyman level electrician or equivalent. • Possession of a valid Driver’s license. • First Aid and CPR certified. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential. • Highly motivated and results oriented. • Ability to adapt to changing list of priorities based on needs of the company, regulatory compliance, and management of risk. • Ability to perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and skill under the pressure of time sensitive deadlines. • Ability and willingness to quickly learn and use new skill and knowledge brought about by rapidly changing information and/or technology. • Skill in reading and writing English sufficient to read and write reports or logs. • Ability to effectively communicate with others, both orally and in writing, using both technical and non-technical language. • Ability to interact with other personnel (coworkers, supervisors, etc.) in a respectful, considerate manner to satisfactorily perform essential duties required of this position and not inhibit others from performing their essential duties. • Must be able to work any shift and overtime as required. Desired Skills • Possession of a valid Washington State Journeyman or Master Electrical License Preferred. • Ability to apply creative thinking, generate ideas and work with diversity. • Thorough knowledge of electrical systems used for steam boilers, refrigeration, and auxiliary equipment. • Thorough knowledge and skills in troubleshooting and diagnostics of control systems and related equipment. • Demonstrates commitment to excellence and high quality of work. • Ability to interpret and work from sketches, drawings, plans and blueprints. • Thorough knowledge of the methods, materials, and equipment used in electrical servicing and electrical repair of heating, cooling, fire suppression systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and auxiliary equipment. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Demonstrates thorough knowledge of electrical theory, practices, procedures, equipment, tools, and materials. Installation, maintenance and repair of packaging, processing, and facility electrical systems. Understand the National Electrical Code, state and local electric codes and ordinances. Install, repair, and perform maintenance of conduits, high and low voltage systems, lighting circuits, panels, regulators, emergency power generators, transformers, relays, circuit breakers, switch boxes, and related electrical fixtures and equipment within the facility per code. Observes and interprets meters and gauges and performs electrical system repair of boilers, refrigeration, and auxiliary equipment. Monitrs/inspects the facility for electrical/mechanical problems and/or equipment malfunctions. Maintains departmental maintenance records and logs. Notifies supervisory personnel of conditions affecting operation of equipment or safety of staff. Helps maintain general cleanliness of maintenance/electrical areas. Works shifts and overtime as required. Attends meetings, conferences, workshops, and training sessions/courses to become and remain current with required electrical licensing/code changes, principles, practices, and current trends in the industry.
