Journeyman Electrician

Summary: Responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment using hand tools, power tools, and various testing equipment and fabricates and repairs other related items and assists the engineering department with various projects. Key Accountabilities: • Recieives work orders related to eletrical installations or add-ons from Engineering Manager • Possesses a deep familiarity with various types of electrical systems, fixtures, and componets • Assists and performs design work on special projects and initiates purchase requisitions for parts and other supplies as needed • Installs electrical systems for new equipment and machinery as designed by Engineering Department • Possesses the ability and knowledge of installation of conduit from 1/2" trade size to 4" trade size, installation of junction pull boxes and their location, the use of grounding and bonding methods according to NEC rules and have the knowledge of using professional equipment for the cutting, threading, boring, and bending of materials. Able to follow current NEC guidelines for the installation required projects, branch and feeder circuits and be able to perform power requirements from the least to the greatest of projects • Must have the ability to troubleshoot and repair problems or concerns with electrical systems by using a variety of tools and techniques • Utilizes machine shop equipment including drill press, band saws, grinder, and welder • Cleans work area around the job site, return all useable items, tools, etc. to their designated storage area and keeps tools and equipment locked up after use • Keeps Company equipment and tools organized and operational • Completes electrical preventative maintenance assignments as required and reports status or the health of the equipment to Engineering Manager • Must comply and follow OSHA safety requirements and to safely use ladders, scaffolding, platforms, scissor and man lifts • Participating in monthly safety classes and/or testing in order to comply with Company safety programs • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications • Minimum of 5 years' experience required running large scale electrical projects. • Ability to read and understand construction blueprints and schematics. • Electrical license preferred but not mandatory. • Must have verifiable work experience and be willing to travel. Travel package is provided. • Excellent organizational skills with careful attention to detail and timely follow-through. • Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills. • Must be self-directed and capable of handling multiple tasks with minimal supervision. • Able to work effectively in stressful, time-sensitive environments. • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). • High standard of integrity and professionalism.
