Position Title: Electrical Technician Pay Rate: Up to $33.75/hr Category/Shift: Hourly Full Time: Evening/Overnight Shift Physical Location: 730 Enterprise Avenue Conway, AR 72032 The Job You Will Perform: This position will perform electrical and mechanical maintenance tasks in a multi-craft role to support production efforts at International Paper's Graphics Container location in Conway, Arkansas. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager. Job Duties and Responsibilities • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and mechanical issues in a safe and efficient manner within a continuous process industrial environment. • Install, test, inspect, repair, and maintain electrical systems and components. • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and manuals. • Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes. • Utilize electrical test equipment and meters, PCs with associated software/hardware, and other diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic systems and components. • Utilize hand tools, power tools, shop tooling equipment, measurement devices, and other equipment to safely perform electrical and mechanical tasks. • Safely operate powered industrial trucks, aerial lifts, and company vehicles. • Evaluate and assist facility with electrical safety compliance per company policy and NEC, including NFPA 70E workplace practices. • Complete work order process within CMMS system (SAP) and other paperwork relevant to the job. • Accomplish tasks with little or no guidance. • Work with maintenance and production teams to troubleshoot and solve problems. • Coordinate with contractors and vendors as needed. • Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Education • Technical training or apprenticeship, preferably a two-year technical degree in industrial maintenance or related field. Experience • Three or more years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance, preferably in a corrugating or converting facility, or similar manufacturing environment. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Must have strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience and proven ability of equipment repair. • Thorough knowledge of industrial electrical systems and controls • Thorough knowledge of PLCs, AC / DC drives, AC / DC motors, contactors, relays, sensors, switches, networking and safety components, photoelectric devices, position feedback devices, and other related components. • Able to read and interpret electrical and mechanical technical documentation. • Working knowledge of PC hardware/software systems (Microsoft, Rockwell Automation, Siemens, SICK, and various OEM products). • Working knowledge of power transmission systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics. • Must provide own tools; specialty tools will be supplied. • Able to work any shift, overtime, weekends, and be on call as needed. • Able to perform all tasks safely in accordance with company rules. • Able to effectively communicate with coworkers, site management, customers, contractors, and the general public. • Must pass a boiler license exam after 6 months of employment. This person will have the ability to read blueprints, electrical systems that show the location of circuits, outlets, and other equipment. Essential Functions: • Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic equipment and fixtures used in the petroleum industry using hand tools and power tools. • Trouble-shoot and diagnose malfunctioning systems or components using the appropriate testing equipment to find and correct the failure. • Use of ohm meter, volt meter, amp probe and megger is required • Install conduits, pull wire and make final connections to circuit breakers, petroleum pumps, dispensers, Point of Sale consoles, tank monitors and petroleum lighting. • Inspect electrical system and components to verify compliance with safety requirements, codes, project specifications and manufacturer requirements. Verify proper operation of the electrical system. • Advise management, customers and fellow workmen when hazards are present and when electrical systems are safe to operate. • Assist estimator with material take-off, material cost and labor allowances. Experience, Competencies and Education • High school diploma or GED • At least 1 year of Journeyman Electrician experience required. • Knowledge of Electrician standards & codes required. • Must be detail oriented. • Have strong communication skills. • Ability to lift 75 –100 lbs when necessary during the course of performing their necessary duties. • Work outside during all types of weather. • Work under time constraints efficiently and have the ability to work well with others. • Follow all company procedures.
