Job Description Pay range: $34-$40/hr + $2/hr shift premium after 4pm Location: Rock Island, IL Shift: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 7pm Duties/Responsibilities: • Analyze and troubleshoot electrical and controls issues throughout the plant • Troubleshooting of automation systems and devices (PLC, I/O, VFDs, fieldbuses, communication networks) • Replacement of defective devices, or commissioning of new devices, including basic configuration or backup reloading • Create, update, and maintain technical documentation as needed (electrical diagrams, installation notes, other relevant documentation) Required Skills/Abilities: • Understanding of general industrial electronics and process control concepts • Ability to read, understand, create, and update electrical diagrams, with an emphasis on troubleshooting from electrical diagrams • Electrical troubleshooting capabilities with the use of multimeter and other diagnostic tools; 24VDC, 240VAC, 480VAC • Experience with industrial control systems (control panels, relays, contactors, safety systems, etc.) • Experience with industrial automation systems, including PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMIs • Ability to read PLC program and reload from backup • Experience working with industrial variable frequency drives (VFDs) (SEW, Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Lenze) • Experience with industrial fieldbuses (Profibus, Profinet, ASi) • Understanding of industrial safety concepts, systems, and devices (Estops, light curtains, safety doors, OSSD, safety monitors); experience with ASi-Safe and Profisafe are a plus • Basic knowledge of ethernet and basic networking skills (routers, switches, IP address, MAC address) • Working knowledge and basic understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics • Experience with AutoCAD for drawing/updating electrical plans • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including ability to root cause and troubleshoot automated equipment and controls • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio C# and Visual Basic Qualifications Education and Experience: • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering or focus on Controls or Electronics • A Master Electrical License or Journeyman Electrical License is required • 3-5 years related work experience • Hands on plant integration experience developing manufacturing support systems • Ability to work flexible hours as required Additional Information Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. As an Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for calculations, system design, equipment selections, reports, progress submittals, BIM instructions for their project, and specifications required to assure project completeness and accuracy within the allocated period of time and monetary budget. The Electrical Engineer consistently exercises his/her own discretion and judgment in the performance of these duties.
