Journeyman Electrician

Qualifications • Education/Certification: Valid Iowa Class A or Class B Journey Electricians License • A valid Iowa driver's license • Knowledge of electrical circuits and wiring and operating principles of motors • Knowledge of local electrical codes • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and written reference material with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions • Ability to diagnose and resolve problems Ability to use hand and power tools • Five years' experience in electrical field • Frequent travel within 40-70 miles of Fort Madison, IA Responsibilities • The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for installing and repairing wiring, electrical fixtures, power equipment, and components of machinery and equipment following electrical code, manuals, specifications, schematics, and blueprints within a communications location as defined by the client's scope of work or engineering specifications • This is a full-time, hourly (non-exempt) position with supervisory responsibilities to a network apprentice if applicable • Install and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, power equipment, and components of machinery and equipment following electrical code, manuals, specifications, schematics, and blueprints • Install and repair control and distribution apparatus, including relays, switches, thermostats, circuit-breaker panels, etc • Install and connect power supply wiring, cables, conduit, and electrical apparatus for equipment in new and existing facilities following diagrams, schematics, or blueprints • Diagnose and resolve problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment using testing instruments and equipment • Test continuity of circuits to ensure compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using rulers, measuring devices, hand tools, pipe threader, and conduit bender • Receive and complete work orders • Select material and hardware and make time and materials estimates • Maintain accurate records on material and labor used • Maintain inventory of company-owned tools, equipment, and materials • Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean • Work with various teams to complete projects • Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment • Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures • Ensure that equipment is in safe operating condition • Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc • Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately • The Supervisor or his/her designee may assign other duties and accountabilities limited to those consistent with the applicable job function Job Type: Full-time Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year Benefits: • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Paid time off • Professional development assistance • Retirement plan • Vision insurance Schedule: • Monday to Friday Work Location: In person

Maintenance Electrical Repair

A Snapshot of Your Day Perform installation, repairs, preventive maintenance, and alterations to complex machinery, machine tools, lifting equipment, and fixtures. Record all required data of repairs and installations. Interpret and implement corrective actions from prints, drawings, and verbal instructions. Recommend appropriate corrective action in accordance with referenced specifications, accepted industry and shop practices. Perform mechanical construction work as required working with or under the direction of supervisors, engineers, and contractors. Keep work areas in a clean and orderly condition. How You’ll Make an Impact • Document, organize, and retain, and accurately report all findings of evaluations and inspections in a timely manner • Interpret drawings, sketches, etc. to determine necessary tools and materials needed for assignments • Perform preventive electrical maintenance and routine repairs on all equipment and operating systems within the facility, including electrical boxes, wires, switches, gearboxes, transmissions, hydraulic & lubrication systems, injection, heating, and molding equipment. • Perform inspections on lifting equipment such as chains, cables, shackles, eyebolts, clamps, and lifting beams to determine the safe operating condition. Enter and maintain data as needed for operating maintenance work order and log systems. • Fabricate, weld, and braze materials and install piping and conduit as needed. Assemble, verify dimensions, and disassemble components or set-ups as required. • Use all required safety equipment and follow established safety procedures. Provide technical direction and training for lower classifications as required. Support and apply team concepts in daily activities. What You Bring • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience • Minimum of 3 years experience repairing electrical equipment and supporting mechanical maintenance preferred • Within the qualifying period the employee must demonstrate a satisfactory proficiency in maintenance and electrical repair • Must demonstrate skills in print reading and application • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Pre-requisite Requirements • High School Diploma or equivalent • Passing score on General Aptitude test • A 2-year technical degree with an emphasis in industrial electrical, Completed an Apprenticeship program. • Minimum of 3 years experience repairing electrical equipment and supporting mechanical maintenance. • Have the ability to acquire all PIME license by passing company test requirements. • Have the ability to acquire a crane license by passing company test requirements. • Have the ability to acquire LOTO certification. • Journeyman's card preferred.
