What you’ll do: • Support production by troubleshooting and repairing process control and electrical issues. • Respond to facility-wide electrical/instrumentation breakdowns and repair calls. • Troubleshoot and repair 480 VAC power distribution problems. • Diagnose faults in multiple control system platforms. • Perform instrumentation calibration, commissioning, and generate “as-built” drawings as needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Ensures all work at job site is performed in a safe manner. Follows all safety procedures, conducts safety meetings and toolbox chats, and encourages others to work safely. Attends required safety training. Promotes and documents safe work practices to ensure compliance with customer, OSHA and company guidelines. 2. Ability to work from an I-pad to access safety documentation, fill out and enter Job Safety Analysis spreadsheets, enter daily logs, and update as built drawings. 3. Ability to work from a work order, take notes of the repairs to correct the issue, and enter the work order with notes on a computer after the repairs have been made. 4. Participates in jobsite meetings and communicates with owners, site managers, inspectors, engineers, workers in related crafts, etc. 5. Assumes responsibility for understanding and complying with Company attendance policy. 6. Analyzes blueprints, schematics, and drawings of electrical systems to help trouble shooting and design. 7. Installation and troubleshooting of panel views 8. Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including motors, VFD’s, PLC’s, and control panels. 9. Troubleshoot and repair hardwired control circuits and repair. • Troubleshoot and repair/replace process control field devices IE flow, temperature sensors and level transmitters. • Repair, rebuild, and replace actuated control valves. • Possess the ability to perform basic troubleshooting in Provox and Delta V control systems. • Understand and troubleshoot 480 VAC three phase power distribution systems. • Generate “as-built” drawings when necessary. • Programmable Logic Controllers • Computer literate in Microsoft Access, Excel, Outlook and Word • Proficient in different types of power and control testing equipment • Certification to operate different elevated lifts • Demonstrated working knowledge and application of local and/or NEC Code requirements • Assumes other duties as assigned • An individual in this position must be able to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Exemplify and ensure that safe work practices are followed at all times. • Plan details of working procedure by determining replacement needs or new material required and develop a logical approach to correct the problem. • Analyze circuits, wiring diagrams, specifications and instructions covering emergency and scheduled repairs, installation, and electrical inspection work to be performed. • Receive wiring diagrams, specifications and instructions from supervisor covering emergency and scheduled repairs, installation, and electrical inspection work to be performed. • Obtain necessary documentation and drawings from electronic systems, paper files, and vendor literature to properly troubleshoot, test, and repair equipment. • Program, configure, modify, and correctly save changes associated with PROVOX DCS, PLC’s, and other proprietary controls. • Calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair all types of process instrumentation and control components, including: • Flow transmitters (magnetic, vortex, coriolis, and D/P). • Level transmitters (pressure, radar, capacitive, ultrasonic). • * Temperature transmitters. • pH transmitters. • Perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, statutory codes, properties of material and principles of operation of electrical equipment. • Energize and de-energize electrical distribution systems including but not limited to 120V single phase, 480V 3 phase, 4160V 3 phase, and 13.8kV 3 phase. • Service electronic equipment by checking, testing, and replacing faulty components, circuits, printed circuit boards, and similar electronic devices. • Install, repair, and maintain communication cables, power distribution equipment, MCC rooms, and related branch circuits. • Size, lay out, install, and repair threaded conduit and wiring systems. • Advise and caution operators and mechanics about potential electrical problems and inherent dangers involved. • Use oscilloscopes, meggars, voltage/OHM meters, amprobes, chart recorders, and other diagnostic tools on energized equipment provided by the company to maintain safe plant operating conditions. • Perform other electrical/maintenance duties as assigned.
