Key Responsibilities: • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential and commercial settings • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and technical documents • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues, ensuring compliance with safety codes • Work with customers to provide electrical solutions that meet their needs • Perform wiring, conduit installation, panel upgrades, and service calls • Utilize the latest software and tools to complete work efficiently • Maintain a clean and organized job site • Train and mentor apprentices as needed • Follow all company and industry safety protocols Qualifications: • State of Iowa Journeyman Electrician License (required) • Minimum of 4 years of experience, preferably in both residential and commercial electrical work • Strong electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics • Knowledge of the latest NEC electrical codes and regulations • Proficiency with electrical tools and testing equipment. • Excellent communication and customer service skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Must provide your own basic hand tools. • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record • Ability to work from heights and operate aerial lifts. Summary: Primary responsibility of the Electrician-Mechanic is to repair and maintain all plant equipment and company assets, with a focus on electrical infrastructure and control systems. Assists other functions within the maintenance operation, as needed and regardless of work type. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Locates sources of problems by observing electrical and mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. • Installs, maintains, and repairs plant electrical infrastructure and electronic control systems in accordance with the state adopted National Electric Code and OSHA regulations. • Fabricates needed repair parts and other items by using maintenance shop machinery and equipment. • Ensures reliable operation of machinery and plant equipment by properly completing preventive maintenance requirements as directed by Management, work order instructions, manufacturer instructions and technical manuals. Assists the Maintenance Management staff to develop and improve current preventive maintenance instructions and practices. • Understands and adheres to the principles of the predictive maintenance programs, as established. These include, but are not limited to: Work Orders, Hot Work Permits, Confined space entry Permits, Clean Tags, High Care Intervention forms, Parts order Log, and Inventory use sheets. Uses computerized records to document maintenance activities. • Assists maintenance management staff in maintaining adequate spare equipment, parts, and supply inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing requests for needed equipment and identifying and up-channeling shortages, when noted. Minimum Qualifications: • This position requires one or more of the following: • 1-year electrical/electronic technical certificate and 2, or more years of experience. • A 2-year electrical/electronic technical degree and 2, years of experience. • 3 or more years of verifiable industrial Electrical/electronic maintenance experience. • Advanced Apprentice of 3 or more years and a Journeyman level Tradesmen. Preferred Qualifications: • Strong Electrical and mechanical skills, including strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • Industrial Food Manufacturing Experience • Should have a broad spectrum of maintenance related skills that include, but are limited to carpentry, mechanical machinery repair, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, building maintenance, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, welding and metal fabrication. Must be able and willing to learn new skills and continuously improve on current skills. Physical Demands: Frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and perform overhead work. Frequently required to sit.
