Overhead Crane Electrical/Mechanical Field Technician

Job Responsibilities: • Electrical troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and modifying overhead crane systems. • Perform maintenance and repairs on equipment at customer owned facilities such as steel mills, auto manufacturing plants, foundries, large machine builders and steel processing facilities. • Work independently, or as part of a crew, to diagnose electrical and mechanical problems with equipment in heavy industrial manufacturing facilities. • Identify needed parts, repair procedures, communicate with the customer, interface with our engineering department, and perform the repair. • Responsible for documentation of hours, services performed, writing service acknowledgements, and working with computers. • You will be trained to perform your duties in compliance with NFPA 70E Arc Flash Protection Requirements. • Motor control experience on systems with AC or DC power is necessary. • You will be trained to perform documented safety inspections on specific types of equipment in keeping with OSHA guidelines. • Perform documented safety inspections of specific types of equipment in keeping with OSHA guidelines. • Responsible for documentation of hours, service performed, writing service acknowledgements, and working with computers. Qualifications: • HS Diploma or GED. • Eligible to work various shifts. • At least 3 years in ana industrial environment or similar military experience. • Skills and experience in welding, electrical and mechanical maintenance. • Experience as an ironworker, millwright or facilities maintenance is preferred. • Team approach to problem solving. • Computer literate; Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. • Ability to interface with internal and external customers. • Travel required. • Ability to work outside in all types of weather, and work from heights (150+ feet). • Ability to work at customer facilities including the extreme elements indoor and outdoor. • Work in accordance with OSHA, CMAA, ANSI, ASME, AWS, and other applicable regulations. Trades Generalist (Electrician)

Job Summary: Will perform journeyman Electrician work and skilled and semi-skilled work in a combination of two other trades related to HVAC and Electronics in the repair, maintenance, and construction of facilities and equipment. Duties include, but not limited to: Will perform electrical maintenance on hospital and campus electrical systems and electrical utilization equipment. Installs new electrical systems as required. While performing these duties evaluate electrical systems for safety, efficiency, and compliance to applicable building codes. Will locate & determine electrical malfunction using various test instruments (i.e. ammeter, volt meter); repair or replace malfunctioning switches, elements and fuses, & defective wiring; install fixtures, motors, and other electrical equipment; inspect circuits & wiring/rewiring systems in accordance with NEC standards; plan layout & wiring installation; interpret, read & follow blueprint & other diagrams. Must demonstrate working knowledge of theory practice, techniques, applicable standards and regulation codes, and tools, materials, and equipment used in the assigned trades. Must be able to perform moderate to heavy lifting. Ability to climb ladders and work at heights on scaffolds and platforms. Ability to perform moderate to heavy manual labor. Ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions. Must be free of facial hair or beard that may interfere with the fit or seal of a mask respirator at the time of fit testing. A mask respirator must be worn in order to comply with State & Federal Safety Health Codes. Reassignment offers are contingent upon satisfactory evaluation from Employee Health Office. Must possess and maintain a valid New York State driver's license. Minimum Qualifications: Four years of full-time experience under a skilled journeyman which would provide training equivalent to that given in an apprenticeship program. Apprentice training gained by the completion of technical courses and a school or institute may be substituted for the above experience on a year-for-year basis. Must also possess two years of experience in maintenance or mechanical work in related trades (HVAC and Electronics) under the supervision of a skilled tradesman or completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course or a combination of both.
