JOB SUMMARY Under the general supervision of the Plant Electrical Engineer perform all work necessary to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the equipment and performs electrical maintenance/upgrades on facilities and equipment. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Must have high school diploma or equivalent 2.Two-year technical Associate Degree (Industrial Electricity and Controls) or Industrial Electrical Technical Certificate from an accredited institution plus documented related work experience (3 years minimum). Previous experience with similar equipment Documented education and/or experience with computer system software programs and associated applications. (e.g MS Excel). Formalized Programmable Logic Controller education and training to include programming and troubleshooting of both hardware and software. Education must include programming and editing of Allen Bradley ControlLogix software. Formalized education and training related to electro-mechanical systems to include; fluid power, mechanical systems, and related automation. Ability to program and troubleshoot Allen Bradley AC drives. Proficient in troubleshooting and testing both AC and DC control circuits as well as 480VAC power and distribution. 9.Must be able to read and understand written instructions, policies and procedures Must be able to read temperature and pressure gauges Reads, interprets and follows blueprints and sketches, making all measurements and calculations necessary to complete the job. ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS Groups of employees on each shift/crew will work together as a total team sharing tasks required to operate the plant to meet customer requirements. Employees on the team will be assigned to perform required tasks using the three simple criteria that follows: • Safe: The task to be performed must be safe, not exposing anyone to undue hazards or risk of injury. • Structured: The task must have a defined method for being performed, and the employee must be properly trained to perform the task. • Sensible: The task to be performed should make appropriate use of the particular employee's skills and qualifications. Advocates and follows safe work practices; reports hazardous conditions immediately; maintains security procedures and wears protective equipment as required. Cleans work areas and equipment as required Plans and lays-out own work assignments and assumes responsibility for the completion of job assignments. Have the ability to program Power flex VFDs. Demonstrates good working knowledge of the National Electric Code and NFPA 70 E trained. Perform electrical preventative maintenance according to an established schedule on all required equipment. Inspect machinery and make adjustments or repairs as needed and take faulty equipment out of operation until repaired. Performs circuit repairs or new installations as required on either capital or expense projects. Works from all types of electrical drawings (one line, ladder and schematics) and is able to work without drawings when necessary. Provides sketches of approved changes made to the wiring upon completion of job. Performs equipment diagnosis as required on the job Possesses knowledge of and performs hydraulic and pneumatic system diagnosis, repair and new installation as required. Skillfully performs all phases of conduit running, wire pulling and termination as required Performs soldering as needed Must be skilled in the use of test equipment including but not limited to digital multimeter, clamp-on amp meter, megger, oscilloscope, etc. Performs DC motor diagnosis, repair and new installation Performs diagnosis repair and new installations of combustion control equipment; batch house computer and related circuits; air conditioning equipment; and controls and circuits in the power house. Operates on plant grounds, mobile equipment including but not limited to front end loader, lugger, fork truck, lawn mower, pick-up, snowplow, etc. in performing the necessary duties of the job assigned Assists maintainers, electricians and auto mechanic as necessary Completes requisitions, time distribution, material lists, material usage lists and performs other clerical duties necessary to maintain proper records relative to the work performed Trains new employees when necessary Electrical Technicians on a 5-day schedule will be directed by the Electrical Engineer. This position will also provide innovation and support for continuous improvement projects. Principal Duties and Responsibilities % Task 20 • Troubleshoots, repair and preventive maintenance as required to ensure equipment reliability. Completes work orders as scheduled and document in SAP in timely manner 15 • Maintain PLC programs to support the day to day operation of the facility 15 • Work closely with Maintenance and Operator Technicians on shift to assure that they are properly trained in the use of the plant control systems. Work with Controls Programming team to solve advanced system related problems. Provide on-shift technical support 10 • Reviews equipment instructions, blueprints, electrical, and pneumatic schematics to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment, nature of technical problem. Develops, documents training materials to support training needs 10 • Work on Continuous Improvement projects throughout the entire plant and troubleshoot system failures to determine root cause analysis and drive innovative resolution.
