Instrumentation & Electrical Technician

Your Role at Cabot: Cabot is seeking a qualified Instrument and Electrical Technician to join their Pampa, TX manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for the install, repair, maintenance, and calibration of instruments and test equipment used to control and measure variables such as pressure, flow, temperature, motion, force, and chemical composition. E& I Technicians also perform work on distributive control systems (DCS) and plant utility electrical systems including motors, lighting panels, motor control centers and automated systems with voltages up to 480VAC. All work tasks are performed in a safe manner while following plant policies and procedures. How You Will Make an Impact: • Continuously identifies problem areas and suggests plans to optimize performance regarding installation, hardware, software and/or process issues in close cooperation with production. • Provides technical support on capital projects to ensure that plant standards are followed, and reliable equipment is installed. • May update E&I calibration program, which includes maintaining manuals and documentation required for ISO certification. May assist in developing E&I preventive maintenance program for electrical, instrumentation and control systems. Electrical (I&E) Engineer

Duties The I&E Engineer shall have experience in the following electrical power areas: • Design & specification of medium and low voltage switchgear • Perform arc flash analysis (experience with ETAP software is desirable) • Perform voltage drop calculations, and basic cable and conduit sizing • Be familiar with hazardous electrical area classification The I&E Engineer shall have experience in the following instrumentation areas: • Experience in reading ladder and function block diagrams • Programming Rockwell (Allen-Bradley) PLCs • Application of process control instrumentation in chemical and petroleum process • Knowledge of SIS applications is desirable The I&E Engineer shall have skills required to develop wiring diagrams, panel drawings, connection diagrams, one-line diagrams, schematic/elementary diagrams, logic diagrams and conduit/raceway diagrams. The I&E Engineer shall have experience with producing complex engineering drawings in AutoCAD. From time to time, the I&E Engineer shall participate in field walk downs as necessary to verify or develop as-built and/or new documentation including: • P&IDs • To determine electrical area classification • To obtain electrical information required to perform arc flash analysis The I&E Engineer shall be able to communicate with clients, project engineers, and other design disciplines to develop instrument/electrical design/construction drawings as required for various industrial and commercial design project applications. And conduct project scheduling to ensure timely completion of engineering tasks. The engineer will be required to travel as necessary for assigned projects. Some travel may be outside the US. Requirements • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in the design of electrical/instrument in the petrochemical industry. • A Professional Engineering license in the state of Texas is desirable, but not required. • US Citizen • Valid driver's license • Valid passport preferred, but not required • Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a drug screening and background check • Mechanical knowledge to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
