Instrumentation & Electrical Technician

Your Role at Cabot: Cabot is seeking a qualified Instrument and Electrical Technician to join their Pampa, TX manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for the install, repair, maintenance, and calibration of instruments and test equipment used to control and measure variables such as pressure, flow, temperature, motion, force, and chemical composition. E& I Technicians also perform work on distributive control systems (DCS) and plant utility electrical systems including motors, lighting panels, motor control centers and automated systems with voltages up to 480VAC. All work tasks are performed in a safe manner while following plant policies and procedures. How You Will Make an Impact: • Continuously identifies problem areas and suggests plans to optimize performance regarding installation, hardware, software and/or process issues in close cooperation with production. • Provides technical support on capital projects to ensure that plant standards are followed, and reliable equipment is installed. • May update E&I calibration program, which includes maintaining manuals and documentation required for ISO certification. May assist in developing E&I preventive maintenance program for electrical, instrumentation and control systems. What You Will Bring to Cabot: • Troubleshooting, diagnosing and problem solving skills. Displays creativity and critical thinking skills. • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. You will also need strong troubleshooting abilities to diagnose, repair, and replace various instruments, controls, and electrical devices, including motors, starters, VFDs, MCC buckets, transformers, switchgear, relays, switches, and electrical panels operating at voltages from 120V to 4160V.
