POSITION OVERVIEW: The Journeyman Electrician provides skilled electrical support to maintain the continuous operation and reliability of production equipment in a high-speed manufacturing environment. This role works collaboratively with electricians on shift, supports the Electrical Maintenance Manager, and ensures proper inventory management of electrical components. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ø Apprenticing Registered non-licensed Electricians. Ø Provide technical assistance and support to fellow electricians during troubleshooting and repairs, ensuring minimal downtime. Ø Perform routine preventive maintenance and inspections on electrical equipment and machinery. Ø Backfill the Electrical Maintenance Manager role as needed, including oversight of daily operations, assigning tasks, and managing schedules. Ø Order electrical parts and supplies, ensuring optimal stock levels to support continuous manufacturing operations. Ø Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, identify root causes. Implement effective solutions to restore equipment functionality. Ø Adhere strictly to company safety protocols, procedures, and electrical codes to ensure a safe working environment. Ø Collaborate closely with production and maintenance teams to identify improvement opportunities that enhance equipment reliability and efficiency. Ø Maintain clear and precise documentation of repairs, inventory transactions, and other maintenance activities. Ø Perform other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: In addition to the specific responsibilities listed above, the ideal candidate will possess the following: Minimum Requirements Ø High school diploma or equivalent required. Ø Valid Journeyman Electrician license required. Ø Minimum of 3-5 years of industrial electrical experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment. Ø A strong background in industrial electrical, VFD, PLC, HMI, motors, sensors, and other electrical devices. Ø Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, diagrams, and blueprints. Ø The ability to use a multimeter and other electrical troubleshooting tools. Ø Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Ø Ability to effectively backfill supervisory roles and manage team dynamics. Ø Experience with Excel and Office is a plus. Preferred Requirements Ø Working experience as an electrician in a canning manufacturing facility. Competencies Ø Strong problem-solving skills through an individual and/or collaborative approach. Ø Ability to work independently and with a team.
