Electrical Engineer Bloomington, MN | Contract-to-Hire | $40.00-$55.00/hr | Onsite The Electrical Engineer supports circuit design, prototype development, and documentation activities for electronic hardware across multiple product lines. This position contributes to schematic creation, component evaluation, board layout support, and validation testing. The engineer works closely with other technical disciplines to ensure designs meet performance requirements and integrate smoothly into broader systems. Key Responsibilities Design & Development • Develop analog, digital, and power electronic schematics based on defined requirements. • Select components that meet design criteria and sourcing considerations. • Assist in layout of printed wiring boards and circuit card assemblies using ECAD tools such as Altium. • Contribute to reliability and safety analyses including MTBF estimates, DFMEA input, and related evaluations. Testing & Documentation • Create and execute test procedures for prototype circuits, electronic assemblies, and EMC evaluations. • Participate in design reviews and provide constructive input to enhance design quality. • Maintain detailed and accurate design documentation throughout the project lifecycle. Cross-Functional Collaboration • Support project teams by translating user needs and technical requirements into electrical design solutions. • Work with mechanical, software, and manufacturing groups to ensure proper system integration. • Communicate clearly with team members and stakeholders regarding status and technical issues. Qualifications & Skills Education & Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electronic circuit design or hardware development. • Proficiency with ECAD tools, preferably Altium. • Experience with prototype validation and familiarity with EMC testing is beneficial. Additional Requirements • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. • Effective verbal and written communication abilities. • Must meet ITAR requirements as a U.S. Person. • Ability to obtain or maintain a security clearance. • Experience working within shared digital work environments such as SharePoint is helpful.
