Electrical Equipment Service Technician

We are seeking an onsite electrical equipment service technician to be based at our state-of-the-art headquarters in Faribault, MN. This position will evaluate, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment as part of our RMA process, which includes reading one-line diagrams, E-Drawings, troubleshooting malfunctions, performing preventative maintenance, and conducting safety inspections. They need to pose the ability to work independently, evaluate component failures, coordinate and order replacement parts. They will use various hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and must be proficient in safety practices to ensure the safe and efficient operation of systems. This technician will also support service part manufacturing through the factory. They will be responsible for coordinating service part jobs through manufacturing to insure they are completed on-time and delivered to the dock for shipment. Key Responsibilities: • Evaluate wiring, control panels, breakers, accessory panels in need of repair, assemble electrical equipment and service parts. • Performs routine and preventative maintenance on electrical equipment and systems to ensure they are working properly to our mechanical, electrical and manufacturing standards. • Repair troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in electrical systems and repair or replace faulty components like wiring, switches, circuit breakers and accessories. • Testing and inspection Conduct tests on systems to check for continuity, measure performance, and perform safety inspections to ensure compliance with regulations. • Documentation keeps detailed records of all services, repairs, and maintenance performed, and communicate with management and clients about timelines and findings. Job Requirements: BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: • Experience 3+ years in a manufacturing environment. • Minimum three years’ experience in electrical service work. • Ability to read and understand one-lines, schematics. • Ability to read and verify electrical verbiage/standards and apply it to the product. • Ability to verify electrical components in a product and use meter equipment. • Ability to read, review engineering specifications, and blueprints to determine if product is in conformance. • Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose and solve complex electrical problems. • Tool proficiency: Skill in using both hand and power tools, and electrical testing and diagnostic equipment. • Safety: Knowledge of electrical safety practices and regulations. • Communication: Good communication skills to explain issues and timelines to clients, colleagues and management. • Possible travel up to 5% in a year. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: • Master Electrician or a bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or similar engineering field. • Experience 3+ years in electrical or facilities management environments • Awareness of electrical standards or compliance certifications (UL, ETL, CSA) • Understand principles of electricity, electrical components, and physics pertinent to, and methods used in testing electric equipment. • Ability to use the NEC 2020 code book on products to make sure they meet code standards • Knowledge of hazards involved in working on or near energized equipment and proper safety precautions. • Problem solving methodology and root cause analysis • Strong communications skills with excellent teamwork skills to resolve issues/concerns. • Analytical and computer skills with experience with Epicor ERP / MRP or similar and Microsoft 365. • Background in project planning and execution Working Conditions: The work can be physically strenuous and may involve lifting heavy objects, bending, stooping, and kneeling. Job Title Electrician - (Master or Journeyman) Plant/Location Faribault, MN 55021 US (Primary) Job Type Salary Category Manufacturing and Production Career Level Experienced (Non-Manager) Education Vocational Job Accountabilities Position Overview: As an active member of the production team on the plant floor, the Electrician (Master or Journeyman) will support the daily production activities at our three-piece can manufacturing operation. This position will interact closely with all aspects of the manufacturing process. The position is hands-on and will be required to cover a variety of duties and responsibilities. Troubleshooting issues with existing equipment is an essential part of keeping the manufacturing line productive. Job Responsibilities: As a Master Electrician: • In addition to the Journeyman responsibilities listed below, the Master Electrician will supervise and approve all electrical work done by electricians and journeymen. • Responsible for signing for all electrical work in the facility. As a Journeyman Electrician: • Maintain and troubleshoot all electrical systems, computers, building and machinery.
