Job Position: Apprentice Electrician Reports To: Electrical Foreman Purpose: Under the guidance and oversight of qualified electricians, complete the electrical installation of solar arrays per construction drawings and customer specifications. Responsibilities: • Assist in pulling wire throughout the solar array, to include PV string wire and all DC and AC feeder wires. • Complete plug and play and manage module leads according to customer specifications. • Complete DC terminations and wire labeling as necessary on homerun string wire as well as combiner boxes and inverters. • Assist in AC terminations at inverters, switchgear, and transformers. • Assist in the performance of electrical testing to include insulation resistance and open circuit voltage testing. • Manage DC string wire per customer specifications. • Perform self-study and ask questions in order to gain the necessary knowledge to understand and interpret electrical specifications and schematics for each site. • Use hand and power tools to install a variety of solar racking systems per drawings, installation manuals, and customer specifications. • Use hand and power tools to install modules per drawings, module cut sheets, and customer specifications. • Attend daily safety meeting and job talk to understand the daily work plan and associated requirements. • Access and interpret construction drawings and cut sheets as necessary to ensure proper installation of solar array components. • Gain and maintain proper access to applicable software systems to ensure daily and weekly completion of both construction tasks and administrative requirements. • Gain a thorough understanding of assigned tasks each day through self-study and asking questions to your leadership as needed. For each task given, ensure complete understanding of safety hazards and steps to mitigate risks, quality requirements, and efficiency expectations. • Communicate any deviations from assigned work schedule to site leadership as early as possible.
