The Musco Mobile Team is currently seeking a Electrical Technician to work from our Mobile Shop in Oskaloosa. This is a hands-on position to assist with the manufacture and maintenance of high-tech mobile lighting equipment used in a rental environment. What You Will Do As a Electrical Technician • Assist in the building of new electrical systems and components along with maintenance of existing equipment • Confirm equipment leaving for jobs is safe and ready for use. • Ability to read and understand electrical prints and schematics • Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems • Assist with the setup, programming and troubleshooting of PLC’s, DMX controls, LED drivers / controllers and Industrial CPU’s • Act as technical support for technicians on the road • Able to operate diesel generators, hydraulic cranes, electrical distribution and control systems, shop equipment, hand tools, man lifts, forklifts, company vehicles, rental cars, computer and iPads • Assist in the maintaining of shop electrical inventory levels and the organized warehousing of equipment and spare parts. • Some travel and field work as demand dictates. Field work will include longer or odd hours, holidays and nights • Other duties as assigned What You Need To Be Successful • 2 or 4 year degree in Electronics/Robotics/Electrical, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Networking, or related field. Lighting Design a plus. • Strong Electrical and/or Electronics background is required. • General proficiency in computer skills • Experience with DMX, ETC hardware and software, and/or lighting design a plus. • Experience with Omron PLC’s, JavaScript, IP Networking / Wi-Fi, Python Scripting a plus. • Strong organizational skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Good interpersonal skills ability to work well with internal and external team members and with customers on jobsites • Strong attention to detail Other Special Requirements • Travel is a job requirement and expect it to be a minimum of 60-90 days per year or more. • Weekend travel will be required. • Some international travel may also be required.
