Primary Responsibilities: • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on reducers, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, pumps and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts. • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straight edges. • Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance. • Complies with all safe work practices and environmental regulations with required PPE • Perform timely equipment change-over’s as required by productions schedule • Maintains an established comprehensive P.M. schedule on assigned equipment • Install, test, maintain and repair electrical systems including 3 phase 480V, single phase 120V and 24VDC systems • Assist in equipment rebuilding activities and engineering projects • Makes timely repairs to meet production needs using test equipment and hand tools • Assist operators on equipment set-ups to ensure proper operations • Requisitions for parts, components, supplies and equipment to be used in the maintenance area • Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot PLC’s, VFD’s, HMI’s and other various equipment • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. • Comply with all work safety practices and environmental rules. • Maintains a safe and clean working environment. • Assist in maintaining the facility as needed. • Able to respond to situations where shifting priorities are common and difficult conditions happen. • Maintains a safe, clean and organized work environment. Other responsibilities: • Fills in where/as needed. • Available for call-ins when necessary. • All other duties as assigned Job Specifications: • At least 2 years of electrician journeyman experience • Four years of journey level electrical experience or completion of an approved technical training program in electrical repair and maintenance - (preferred) • Able to work in a team setting • Must provide one’s own hand tools required to perform job responsibilities • Must have effective verbal and written English communication skills • Able to work overtime/Saturdays as required and rotate shifts to cover vacations and Projects. • Have a Valid Driver’s License and able Operate Forklift, Scissor and Man lift. • Ability to perform work safely. • Ability to use math and understand and calculate measurements, fractions and weight scales and document accordingly. • Ability to operate machinery. • Ability to perform physical labor involving heavy work, exerting in excess of 100lbs of force with some frequency. • Ability to climb ladders and stairs repeatedly throughout the shift. • Ability to communicate thoughts, ideas, request, and problems to fellow employees and supervisors on a one-to-one basis, as well as over the phone and in written form. • Ability to work as part of a team. • Must be capable of learning and comprehending job assignments, possess good memory and recall abilities, troubleshoot problems and independently implement solutions. • Regular and predictable attendance is expected as a job function Summary: The Electrician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing machinery and mechanical equipment, troubleshooting malfunctions, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of journeyman experience and be able to work in a team setting. This position may require overtime and rotating shifts. A valid driver's license and ability to operate machinery and perform physical labor are also required. The Electrician must have strong communication skills and be able to work independently.
