About the position Responsibilities • Plan layout, install, and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment. • Install, maintain, modify and repair all electrical distribution systems and associated electrical equipment. • Remain in compliance with current National Electric Code. • Inspect and test components of electrical systems, including transformers, transfer switches, switch gears, and VFDs. • Identify electrical problems with a variety of testing devices. • Identify issues and make corrective measures to fix problems with electrical components. • Obtain price quotations on materials needed; submits purchasing orders for approval. • Effectively handle electrical installation/repair work orders, pm work orders and complete on schedule. • Establish or adjust work procedures to meet schedules. • Observe safety and security procedures; determine appropriate action beyond guidelines; report potentially unsafe conditions. • Utilize work order system to record detailed handling of scheduled assignment including hours needed to complete assignment. • Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements • High School Diploma or equivalent. • Journeyman level experience in electrical work. • Knowledge of National Electric Code and Electrical Industry Codes. • Ability to interpret electrical wiring diagrams and schematics. • Experience with testing devices for diagnosing electrical issues.
