Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Residential Electricians with various levels of experience to join our team. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain additional hands-on experience in the electrical trade while working under the guidance of experienced electricians. The Residential Electrician will assist in various electrical tasks, ensuring compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and safety standards. Duties • In general, the Residential Electrician is responsible for mounting boxes, drilling holes, pulling Romex, making up switch and receptacle boxes, installing meters and load centers and making up panels. Additional duties include installing switches and receptacles and hanging light fixtures. • Less experienced electricians will perform tasks under the supervision of a Journeyman or Master Electrician installing the work, acquiring the skills and knowledge of the trade and become a Journeyman Electrician • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine the layout of electrical systems. • Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various electrical tasks. • Help troubleshoot electrical issues and perform basic repairs under supervision. • Learn to work with high voltage systems while adhering to safety protocols. • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and materials are properly stored. • Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to electrical work, including NEC regulations. Qualifications • A minimum of 6-months of prior experience as a residential electrician is required. • Familiarity of electrical principles and terminology is a plus. • Familiarity with NEC regulations is a plus. • Ability to read blueprints and schematics is a plus. • Experience using hand tools and power tools safely. Requirements • Strong willingness to learn from experienced electricians and take direction. • Be detail-oriented, have a good attitude & willing to work with Co-workers and job site staff. • Clean Cut, presentable, willing to show up on time. • Job requires working in all elements. This depends on job location and time of year (heat, cold, rain, snow) • Physical ability to perform tasks that may require lifting a minimum of 50 pounds on a continuing basis, standing for long periods, working overhead for long periods of time, and working in various environments. • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead. • Work in restricted areas (electrical switchgear room, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attics). • Wear the provided personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
