Journeyman Lineman (Service Position)

Southern Pioneer Electric Company is seeking an experienced and skilled Journeyman Lineman for a service position in Liberal, KS. This role involves performing advanced maintenance, repair, and construction of electrical power lines, ensuring reliable service to our customers. The position requires rapid response to outages and emergencies, working independently or with a team to maintain and enhance our electrical distribution system. Key Responsibilities: • Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground electrical distribution systems. • Construct and maintain power lines, including pole setting, wire stringing, and transformer installation. • Operate specialized equipment such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, and other line construction tools. • Respond promptly to outages and emergency situations, restoring power efficiently. • Adhere strictly to safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe work environment. • Provide leadership and guidance to apprentice linemen or crew members when needed. Requirements: • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) –) with an exemplary driving record. • High School Diploma or GED - Required for basic educational background. • Journeyman Lineman Certification - Must have completed a recognized lineman apprenticeship program. • Residency Requirement - Must live within a 20-minute response time of Liberal, KS, to ensure rapid response to emergencies. • Physical Fitness - Capable of climbing poles, lifting heavy equipment, and working in various weather conditions. • Ability to Work at Heights - Comfortable working aloft on poles or in bucket trucks. • Mechanical and Electrical Expertise - Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems and mechanical concepts. • Safety-Oriented - Commitment to following and promoting safety practices and procedures. • Teamwork and Independence - Ability to work effectively in a team or independently, taking initiative as needed. • Reliability - Dependable work ethic, including punctuality and consistent attendance. Summary Job title: Management Trainee – Non Exempt-DIV Job ID: 202541660001 Department: Liberal - RES Location: KS-Liberal Description Summary: CED’s Management Training program is tailored to sales-minded candidates seeking management positions in an evolving industry. CED is a privately held company with more than 750 locations. Management Trainees are taught every aspect of CED’s business in order to run their own multi-million-dollar location upon completion of the training. On-the-job training lasts for 2-3 years and includes rotations in warehouse, counter sales, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial statements, purchasing, account management, project management, inventory management and business development. Throughout the program, trainees attend multiple sessions focused on electrical products, sales, and management. While the position provides real on-the-job training, there is also online training related to electrical systems, sales, and management. No prior industry experience is necessary: we give you the tools needed to be successful with CED. The ideal candidate possesses outstanding communication skills, is geographically flexible, and thrives in a fast-paced, multi-faceted industry.
