Brief Summary of Job Description This position’s primary responsibility as a skilled electrician, perform all phases of interior and exterior electrical maintenance, repair and work as directed by Facilities Management and Planning Department. Job Duties Must be able to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, drawings, code books, electrical formulas and conversion tables and apply this knowledge to the maintenance, repair and installation of electrical and telecommunication distribution systems, devices and electrical generation systems. Must have the ability to layout, install, and repair electrical power, telecommunication, fire and security circuits, equipment, and appliances; install conduits (rigid, EMT,PVC), power conductors, switches, receptacles, light fixtures, and other electrical devices using necessary power and hand tools. Deenergize circuits and remove wiring of motors, appliances, fixtures and other electrical equipment for replacement or repair. Examine and test elements of electrical systems to locate faults, shorts, opens, connections, etc. Repair, maintain, test and calibrate electrically operated controls and devices Required Qualifications High School diploma, completion of a 4-year Journeyman program, or 2-year vocational technical program and two years of electrical construction or service experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired. Requires a Nebraska State Contractor or Masters Electrician License, and a valid Nebraska State Drivers License.
