Electrical Maintenance Technician

Overview We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role is vital in ensuring the reliable operation of complex electrical and mechanical systems within our facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in industrial electrical systems, hydraulics, and maintenance practices, with experience in troubleshooting and repairing high-voltage and low-voltage equipment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced automation technologies, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), vision inspection systems, and distributed control systems, supporting continuous production and operational excellence. Responsibilities • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment across the manufacturing plant. • Troubleshoot electrical issues using schematics, wiring diagrams, and precision measuring instruments such as ohmmeters. • Maintain and calibrate sensors, vision inspection systems, and other automation components to ensure optimal performance. • Repair and replace components in high voltage and low voltage systems, including motors, drives, sensors, and PLCs. • Read and interpret technical schematics, AutoCAD drawings, and control system documentation for installation and troubleshooting purposes. • Conduct field service activities including installation, commissioning, and repair of electrical systems at various plant locations. • Support calibration activities for precision instruments to maintain manufacturing quality standards. • Collaborate with engineering teams on projects involving CNC machinery, Calypso software, or other manufacturing automation tools. • Ensure compliance with safety standards related to high voltage work and industrial maintenance procedures. • Document maintenance activities accurately in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Skills • Extensive experience with industrial electrician tasks including wiring, troubleshooting, and system repair. • Strong knowledge of hydraulics, mechanical systems, sensors, calibration techniques, and precision measuring instruments. • Proficiency with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), and automation software such as Calypso. • Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, AutoCAD drawings, and technical manuals effectively. • Experience working with vision inspection systems and other automation technologies used in manufacturing environments. • Knowledge of high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) electrical systems along with safety protocols for working with electrical equipment. • Familiarity with CNC machinery operation or maintenance is a plus. • Background in industrial maintenance within manufacturing settings; military experience related to technical maintenance is advantageous. • Strong customer service skills to support internal teams or external field service projects as needed. This role requires a dedicated professional capable of maintaining complex electrical systems while ensuring safety standards are met at all times. Long term Maintenance (No Per Diem) Work Hours Mon - Fri 7:00AM - 3:30PM Must pass pre-emplyment background and physcial SUMMARY Plan, layout, install, and repair wiring, conduit, electrical fixtures, apparatus and control equipment. RESPONSIBILITIES - Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment or follows diagrams or blueprints insuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring. - Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit using such tools as a hacksaw, pipe threader, rules and conduit benders. - Pulls wiring through conduit, assisted by helper. - Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads with knife or pliers, twisting or soldering wires together and applying tape or terminal caps. - Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment using hand tools. - Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays and circuit- breaker panels, and fastens in place with crews or bolts using hand or power tools. - Connects power cables to equipment and installs grounding leads. - Test continuity of circuit to insure electrical compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer and oscilloscope. - Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement. - Disassembles and repairs defective electrical equipment or systems. - Load, transport and unload material, tools, equipment and supplies. - Maintains tools and equipment. - Be able to distinguish colors. - Knowledge of certain procedures such as LOTO, etc. - Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules.
