Class A Electrician

Class A Electrician FULL-TIME $32.59/hr Preference will be given to individuals with formal advanced training, paper/pulp mill experience, experience with power distribution systems, distributed control systems (DCS), and programmable logic controllers (PLC). This position requires you to be successfully fit tested for a full face respirator and be respirator ready (clean shaven on the sides of the head and neck areas) at all times. This position is responsible for installation, troubleshooting and servicing of production and support equipment within the facility along with project support and preventive/predictive maintenance to ensure minimal downtime while maintaining operational safety. Essential Job Duties Include: • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits and/or components of all production equipment and building infrastructure • Develop and maintain PM schedule for electrical circuits and/or components of equipment and building • Plan or assist in setup and installation of new equipment and/or equipment components and/or plan or assist in dismantling obsolete equipment and/or components • Recommend and/or implement methods or system improvements to increase operational efficiency • Maintain IT Infrastructure-running Cat5/6 and Fiber-Optic cables • Set up and operate a variety of shop equipment • Ensure Safety compliance; Support a safety culture by administering and following all safety rules and regulations. Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized department. Qualifications/Requirements: • Associate’s degree in Industrial Electricity or related field or 5+ years’ experience as an Industrial Electrician within a manufacturing environment • Formal electrical training (apprenticeship) • Experience with Variable Frequency Drives, PLC and Motor Control along w/ all types of electrical phasing • Demonstrated ability to use hand and power tools, as well as technical testing equipment consistent with the Industrial Electrical field • Demonstrated ability to design and plan electrical installations • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics • Mechanical experience desired • Computer literacy – Preferably with Microsoft Office (excel, word, outlook) • Excellent communication skills – Verbal and written • Self-Motivated • Strong commitment to safety & quality Physical Requirements/Safety: • Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
