Low Voltage Technician

We strive for efficient and quality work and to creatively problem solve and to innovate. We are looking for knowledgeable installers of low voltage cabling and security and surveillance systems. Our company is looking for 2 security/low voltage system installers as well as experienced and/or licensed electricians. Responsibilities for Low Voltage Service and Installer: - Install Data, Security, Fire, CCTV, Access Control, and Fiber Optics - Any project requiring low voltage wiring and devices is within its scope - Install various access control devices including card readers and electric door strikes - Install various fire alarm system devices (conventional & addressable) including initiating and notification appliances - Install cable pathway systems (cable trays, cable racks, J-hooks or D-rings) - Install, terminate, test, label, and document horizontal, backbone and other cables - Dress and route cable into closets and control rooms - Perform other duties as required - Listen and communicate with peers, supervisors, and customers - Possess basic computer skills - Maintain strict client confidentiality - Maintain professional appearance and demeanor Physical demands: - Capable of sitting and standing for long periods of time. - Freely bending, kneeling, crawling and stooping while working - Work from high places such as roofs, ceilings, ladders and crawl spaces and other small areas - Safely move and lift materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance. - Must be able to see color and distinguish between colors. Work ethic:Demonstrates the ability to perform the assigned duties within the realm of responsibility. Must possess skills to interface with various departments, internal and external customer groups to perform necessary telecommunications work. Customer Service:Possesses an awareness of customer requirements with emphasis on major initiatives. Must be able to set priorities and demonstrate timely and effective response to customer and team member needs. MUST be a team player. Availability:Must provide personal availability and participate in rotational on call status. Working Conditions:Employees are subject to some On-Call duties, 24-hour call back, and may be asked to work during unusual hours, inclement weather, and other adverse circumstances. Master Electrician

The Barre Unified Union School District is seeking a Master Electrician to ensure safe, effective, and efficient operations and systems for all district facilities. Limited outside work, and all travel is within the boundaries of our four Barre schools! Primary Responsibilities: • Use of common hand tools, electrically and pneumatic powered tools, and when necessary, due to height of work area, ladders and/or scaffolding perform. • Maintenance on electrical systems and lighting systems to ensure proper working order and safety of operation. • Planned maintenance on electrically operated equipment such as pumps, fans, control systems, lighting etc. • Evaluation of requests for new electrical services and advises the Facilities Director of the request if warranted. • Installation of new electrical services and/or coordinates the installation by others. • Evaluations of electrical usage with respect to energy usage and the energy management programs. • Planning and formulation of cost estimates for major construction projects. • Review and interpretation of proposed designs, architectural drawings, and building specifications for safety considerations, required functions, initiatives, revisions and change orders where appropriate. • Maintain surveillance on all electrical inventory systems for both equipment and supplies for the department. • Take part in state fire regulatory inspections and conduct follow-up on all recommendations. Qualifications: • Demonstrated knowledge of building security/operations and electrical maintenance systems. • At least 10 years of relevant experience. • Excellent communication, both written and verbal, including knowledge of basic office applications needed to communicate, documents, etc. • Ability to work in multiple locations and maintain professional relationships with diverse groups of people, as well as work independently, proactively and effectively with little direction. Hours for this position are 7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday through Friday. Pay range is $80,000 - $85,000 depending on experience.
