About the position Owens Corning Danville is calling everyone interested in an Industrial Electrician position in the Danville, IL area to apply to join our amazing manufacturing team full-time! This position works a rotating 12-hour shift, working 4 weeks on nights and then 4 weeks on days, with rotating days. Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday one week and then Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday the next. This may include occasional scheduled overtime. We pay this full-time position competitive pay, ranging from $31.72-$43.66. Responsibilities • Immediately report any accidents, near misses, or injuries to your supervisor. , • Prioritize personal and team safety daily. , • Comply with safety requirements and notify appropriate personnel of any exceptions. , • Follow all environmental compliance policies and programs. , • Understand and apply basic industrial electrical codes. , • Troubleshoot and communicate technical issues with AC variable frequency drives. , • Install and repair complex industrial equipment. , • Maintain all plant electrical and electronic systems. , • Lead efforts for electrical root cause analysis when appropriate. , • Work with outside contractors as instructed. , • Perform other duties as assigned. , • Maintain regular on-site attendance. , • Ability to provide vacation relief for maintenance shift personnel. Requirements • High school diploma or GED equivalent. , • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related maintenance trade or occupation involving electrical and electronic components in an industrial manufacturing environment. , • Journeyman Electrician (preferred but not required). , • PLC training. , • Understanding of power systems (preferred but not required). , • Knowledge of 15KV electrical distribution. , • Understanding of coordinated multi-drive systems. , • Experience with guarding (light curtains, interlocks, etc.). Nice-to-haves • Advanced computer skills. , • Knowledge of electrical, PLC, and communication systems. , • Understanding of hydraulics and pneumatic. , • Ability to read blueprints and schematics. , • Ability to think under pressure and make quick, safe decisions. , • Work independently with minimal supervision and produce high-quality work. , • Attention to detail. , • Experience with Siemens systems. , • Experience with SCADA and HMI systems. , • Experience with SAP is preferred but not required. Position Overview The Illinois Department of Corrections is looking for a candidate to serve as an Electrician to work at Danville Correctional Center. The ideal candidate will perform electrical work at a journeyman level. This position maintains all electrical systems within the facility and performs routine maintenance inspections in accordance with the facility work order system. Repairs and maintains electric switchboard panels electrical components of air conditioners installs and maintains electrical systems which operate on alternating or direct current circuits and high voltage lines. This position also repairs and maintains all electrical locking systems and security lights throughout the facility. We encourage all qualified applicants to apply. Essential Functions • Maintains electrical systems within the facility. • Maintains electrically driven mechanical equipment and associated equipment. • Supervises and guides assigned individuals in custody. • Maintains adequate inventory of electrical supplies. • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications • Requires knowledge skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four 4 years of high school. • Requires successful completion of a recognized electrician apprenticeship program AND four 4 years fulltime journey level electrician experience OR eight 8 years of fulltime journey level electrician experience. Preferred Qualifications • Prefers at least five 5 years of experience applying established national state and local electrical codes. • Prefers at least five 5 years of experience reading interpreting and working from blueprints simple sketches and drawings. • Prefers at least five 5 years of experience making rough sketches and estimating time labor and materials necessary to complete work orders. • Prefers at least five 5 years of experience using tools of the trade such as voltmeters ampmeters ohmmeters and other calibration and testing equipment apparatus. • Prefers at least five 5 years of experience installing maintaining and troubleshooting fire alarm systems. • Prefers at least five 5 years of experience maintaining inventory and accurate tool count. • Prefers at least five 5 years of experience inspecting unsafe or faulty conditions in production transmission and utilization of electricity. • Prefers at least five 5 years of experience installing maintaining and troubleshooting building automation systems. • Prefers at least five 5 years of experience working with journey level telecommunications work such as data networks cable TV and security cameras.
