Power Electrical Licensed Journeyman - Colorado

SUMMARY  Mortenson is currently seeking an Electrical Journeyman that will be responsible for providing skilled craftsmanship for maintenance and installation of electrical systems. RESPONSIBILITIES • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system • Install, repair, and maintain motors, transformers, generators, lights, appliances, circuits, wiring, and other electrical system equipment and components in compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulations • Study plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements and sequence of repairs and/or installations • Repair and maintain high voltage systems • Organize work by receiving and studying work orders; gather tools and supplies • Read prints, layout work, and install new service • Repair electrical problems by replacing faulty parts and components • Maintain electrical systems by conducting system tests; complete preventive maintenance requirements • Keep supplies ready by placing orders • Maintain safe work environment by following standards and procedures; comply with codes • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; read technical publications • Accomplish maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as needed • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels • All other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS • High school diploma or GED • Minimum two years of related experience • Trade or technical school certification/diploma • Apprentice aptitude test • Union specific training • Project specific/Mortenson training • Current driver’s license • Ability to speak and understand English (Spanish is a plus); some ability to read plans; shown emotional intelligence; ability to operate equipment such as table saws, radial arm saws, belt & disc sanders, drill presses, fall protection equipment, rigging, and form systems • Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, detail orientation, active listening skills, and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedback • Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements • *Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs. • Please note: this position description is not intended to be a comprehensive list of the duties and responsibilities of the position. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). ELECTRICIAN FOREMAN GENERAL

Specific Responsibilities Leadership Supervise Foreman, Journeymen and Apprentices actively presenting leadership skills at the highest level Supervise crews installing raceways, pulling wire, and mounting equipment, training apprentices and journeyman to do the same Act as the go to person in the field Establish, maintain, promote and participate in Encore’s mentoring program Train, develop, mentor and coach up and coming various levels of future supervision Motivate crew and project, keeping morale up on projects Communicate goals for the jobsite to employees working at all levels of Encore Electric, Inc. using the tell-back procedure Promote continuing education Lay out and organizes assigned tasks to apprentices and journeymen Lead by example Process Improvement Engage and help crew and follows up to ensure it is completed Effectively communicate and define employees role with them on the project, ensuring employee understands how they fit into the overall job and how the years of apprenticeship training or three years of apprenticeship training with two year degree from technical college. • This position also requires five years total experience with one year as a Foreman 1. A Journeyman Wireman’s license from the State of Colorado, or appropriate state, along with Denver Fire Alarm Journeyman License within 90 days of accepting the position (Applicable only if on the front range) is required. • Demonstrated leadership skills are also required with the completion of Leadership Level I Leadership (Supervision) being preferred.
