In this role, you will support the maintenance of our campus by performing a variety of essential tasks, including connecting wires to circuit breakers, conducting preventative and electrical maintenance, troubleshooting equipment, and handling basic electrical repairs and installations. Flexibility is key, as occasional night and weekend work will be required, along with being available for 24-hour calls. Primary Responsibilities: • Conduct minor maintenance and repair tasks on designated equipment. • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on building equipment. • Monitor boiler chemicals and settings. • Execute basic electrical repairs and installations. • Operate and clean manual and power maintenance equipment; perform minor equipment repairs. • Willingness to learn and perform tasks related to Structured Technology cabling, including CAT6, Fiber Optics, Security Cameras, Door Access, Sound Systems, and Streaming Systems. • Assist in trash removal and snow clearing efforts. • Participate in light construction and other building needs as requested. • Adhere to scheduled maintenance timelines. • Be on call for after-hours needs as required. • Support the Director of Facilities with on-call responsibilities when necessary. • Uphold behaviors and attitudes that reflect RMCAD's Mission, Vision, and Values. • Complete additional duties as assigned by management. Qualifications: • High School Diploma or GED required. • Experience with boilers is essential. • A minimum of four years in electrical work is required. • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English is necessary. • Knowledge and application of the National Electrical Code (NEC) is mandatory. • A valid State of Colorado Journeyman Electrical license is required. Additional Skills: • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. • Install conduit and new outlets. • Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand or power tools. • Assemble, install, test, or maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, or fixtures, using appropriate tools. • Test electrical systems or ensure circuit continuity using testing devices to verify safety and compatibility. • Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring according to job specifications and local codes. • Inspect electrical systems for hazards or defects and ensure compliance with codes. • Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components using testing equipment and hand tools. Working Conditions and Physical Demands: This position exposes employees to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic chemicals regularly. Employees will work near moving mechanical parts and outdoor conditions, often in high places, and may face extreme temperatures and the risk of electrical shock. This role requires moving objects weighing up to 100 pounds regularly and involves bending, stretching, and occasional climbing.
