Electrician

We are seeking an Electrician to join our team! This position will help to install, maintain, and adjust all electrical equipment in good repair. Ability to work from blueprints and wiring diagrams to locate and diagnosis trouble in the electrical equipment. They’re installing and repairing electrical equipment such as transformers, switchers controllers, circuit breakers, motors, conduit systems, etc. This position will also assist with minor mechanical repairs to equipment (such as changing belts and pulley, replacing bearings, etc.). The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical background and mechanical aptitude. This is a full-time, union-hourly position located in Zanesville, OH. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Understanding of PC’s, and PLC programming and troubleshooting. • Installing new equipment. • Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics. • Ability to plan work that requires knowledge of wiring electrical low and high voltage- 24v DC to 480 volts, running wire and conduit, and reading schematics with mechanical maintenance issues. • Performing lock-out tag-out procedures. • Develop a predictive/preventative approach to electrical and mechanical maintenance issues in a safe manner. • Develop working mechanical and electrical knowledge of material conveying, process water, chilled water, air compressors, air dryers, high voltage 3 phase or single power distribution, transformers, switch gears, all systems that support the production process. Including proficiency at PM's and the rebuilding of equipment components. • Ability to plan work that requires knowledge of electrical theories, codes and principals to effectively accomplish assigned work with minimum supervision. • Install power requirements for equipment modification and installation. The Ideal Candidate will have a knowledge of: • Arc flash electrical safety • PLC Troubleshooting • Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and equipment • Knowledge of motor controls, starters, thermos over-load relays, and time delays • Knowledge of electrical sensors, relays, and coils • knowledge of industrial power distribution • Variable frequency drives and soft starters • Soldering Qualifications/Requirements: • Candidates must pass written aptitude test • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years’ experience in electrical maintenance or related field. • Experience using a variety of precision measuring instruments. • Basic computer skills.
