Job Duties: As an Electrician, you will: • Install, alter, maintain, and repair wring systems, public address systems, traffics signals, electric clocks, telephones, floodlights, and other electrical fixtures and equipment. • Provide support to Electrician Specialists and assist with work on high voltage systems under supervision of Electrician Specialists. • Use standard tools such as volt meters, amp meters, watt meters, and related equipment to trouble shoot and isolate problems and operate various types of electricians electrical systems. • Install and make repairs on nonmetallic cables such as romex, conduits (greenfield), and thin walls or rigid conduit. • Troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical motor starters, related switchgears, and controls. • Install and repair campus computer network cabling (cat5 & cat6). • Maintain emergency generators; should be able to read schematics and blueprints. • Make electrical inspections of electrical equipment and appliances. • Repair outside lighting on entire campus. Location: Louisiana Tech University Physical Plant-Ruston, LA Work Schedule: The typical work schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 7:30am to 4pm. May be required to work some overtime, weekends, or holidays.
