Becker Global America is searching for an Electrical Engineer, to be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the electrical systems and equipment that power mining operations. This includes control system design, substation design, power generation, distribution, and control systems, as well as electrical safety and security measures. Creates and maintains electrical schematics using electrical CAD. Must possess a strong knowledge to design, propose and implement modification to improve electrical systems, focusing on sustainability, quality and safety. Design and Development: Develop and design electrical systems for various mining equipment, including power stations, motors, and automation systems. Create detailed designs, specifications, and schematics for electrical components and systems. Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses for proposed electrical projects. Implementation and Installation: Coordinate with contractors and other engineers to ensure project specifications are met. Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues that may arise during the installation or operation of equipment. Responsibilities: · Develop, design and update engineering plans and calculate project costs. · Plan and design power stations and power generating equipment. · Determine what kinds of circuits transformers and other equipment is needed for a project. · Understand and interpret drawings, standards and regulations. · Creating reports and developing instruction manuals for installing new electricity systems and equipment. · Oversee electricity system tests and correct any faults. Skills and Qualifications: • Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field. • Experience: Several years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in a heavy industrial or mining environment. • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, design software, and relevant industry standards. • Problem-solving Skills: Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex electrical problems. • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, contractors. Role Overview of the MEP Engineer We are seeking an experienced MEP Engineer (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) to provide remote and in-person support to our field installation teams and subcontractors. Your role will be to create, review, and check electrical and mechanical installation schematics and plans for a wide variety of equipment ranging from a maritime surveillance radar to a genset or CCTV security and building monitoring system. Your job will entail reviewing proposed engineering designs proposed by sub-contractors, inspecting and reviewing completed work to ensure quality standards, completing reports, and training and coaching field engineers both remotely and onsite to conduct work to the highest quality standards. The role is UK (Bristol) based, but does require periodic international travel to Middle East, Asia, and Africa to conduct reviews and work on the ground alongside our field project teams and sub-contractors. Responsibilities Of The MEP Engineer (not Exhaustive) • Review and approve proposed electrical and mechanical installation configurations for a variety of equipment that rely upon electrical utility and power systems. • Physically oversee and or undertake installations. • Train and coach field engineering teams to ensure high quality and consistent workmanship. • Help build and maintain standard work procedures and standards. • Review equipment installations, identify issues and propose remedial work. • Where relevant, deeply understand equipment installation and configuration requirements to enable correct commissioning. • Ensure all installations comply with technical standards, safety protocols, and project specifications. • Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance of all integrated systems. • Document installation procedures and generate detailed reports for project stakeholders. • Help to devise and define long term maintenance programs that ensure systems and equipment operate optimally and reliably. Requirements of the MEP Engineer • Proven experience in electrical and mechanical installations – for example integrated CCTV and building monitoring systems, building power systems and or communication towers. • Strong understanding of electrical standards, safety regulations, and networking fundamentals. • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, server rack layouts, and technical drawings, schematics, standards, and specifications. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Willingness to travel internationally for installations and on-site support.
