POSITION: Maintenance Electrician A SHIFT: 1st LABOR GRADE: 1 HOURS: 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. DEPARTMENT: 85-1 NUMBER OF OPENINGS: 1 MINIMUM RATE: $27.77 MAXIMUM RATE: $29.95 DESCRIPTION: The principle tasks of the Maintenance Electrician A are as follows. • Installs, maintains and repairs building and automated production electrical equipment such as motors, controllers and electronic controls. • Uses electrical test equipment such as multimeters, amp meters, meggars, oscilloscope, digital meters, calibrators, etc. to troubleshoot and diagnose problems with electrical/electronic circuits and make necessary repairs. • Installs conduit, electrical equipment, necessary wiring and makes electrical adjustments and maintains proper phase relationships. • Performs necessary preventative maintenance to all electrical equipment. • Works from drawings, sketches and schematics. • Makes electrical drawings, schematics of ideas, changes to equipment and circuit designs. • Trains and instructs Class B Electricians and works closely with maintenance personnel. • Performs mechanical troubleshooting and repair as necessary for proper electrical operation of equipment. • Makes reports and maintains necessary records of work orders and service records. • Coordinates with the department supervisor any equipment or material problems. • Performs housekeeping duties as required or assigned. • Adheres to all plant and departmental safety rules.
