LOCATION: Core Resources - Beckley Mining Complex - Eccles, WVRESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED: Perform electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic maintenance and repair work on all equipment associated with an underground coal mine.Perform scheduled, unscheduled, and preventative maintenance on assigned mine equipment/installations by using numerous types of hand tools, precision measuring instruments, diagnostic equipment (voltmeters, ammeters, etc.), and machine tools to replace parts and components, make repairs, dismantle and reassemble equipment and components as necessary.Read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams and follow maintenance manuals and parts books to set up and perform tasks.Perform welding and acetylene torch-cutting work on as needed basis.May be required to document all or certain work activities and related information.May be required to operate certain mine equipment to diagnose problems, position it for repairs to be made, test operate after making repairs.Conduct all work activities in compliance with Federal and State coal mining laws and Company policies, procedures, rules and regulations.PREFERRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:Minimum of High School diploma or GED equivalentCurrent WV Mine Electrician's Certificate (both underground and surface certifications preferred)Knowledge of State and Federal Mining LawsExcellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skillsExcellent problem-solving skills, and the knowledge and ability to make decisions relative to maintenanceExcellent safety and attendance record Basic computer skills

Electrician, Electrical Engineering

Electrician Role Overview The Electrician will install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in commercial buildings or manufacturing sites. They will inspect electrical systems to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and state/local building regulations based on the National Electric Code. • Complex wiring, manufacturing equipment, packaging equipment, lighting fixtures, circuit breakers, transformers, and other electrical components knowledge is required. • Diagnosing and repairing electrical issues quickly and safely. • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical diagrams, wiring schematics, manufacturers' maintenance manuals, and computer-aided design drawings (CAD). • Knowledgeable with computer maintenance management systems such as SAP. • Explaining technical information, status updates, progress to colleagues and department leads across the site. • Effectively working independently, within a team, or alongside outside contractors. • Assisting in planning electrical upgrades, parts ordering, consumables ordering, and planned maintenance events. Nelson School of Engineering seeks to hire multiple adjunct faculty members potentially for the Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering and Computer Science, Information Systems and Construction Management Programs.
