Electrical Assembly Technician

JOB SUMMARY: The Electrical Assembly Technician is responsible for ensuring that assigned machines are electrically constructed to Douglas Machine Inc. specifications and mechanical assembly documentation is maintained and accurate. This individual must also have strong capabilities in the setup/build-up and debug of electrical systems common to the product types produced by the business cell. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned: • Steward our mission (to enrich lives by providing differentiated packaging automation and services) and values (unwavering integrity, servant’s heart, ownership spirit and continuous innovation and improvement). • Responsible for completing the assigned work within the current established guidelines. • Responsible for ensuring that assigned machines are mechanically constructed to Douglas Machine Inc. specifications, mechanical/electrical assembly documentation is maintained and accurate. • Be willing to assist with the training of assembly employees at all levels. • Responsible for completing the mechanical construction phase of the machine assembly. • Communicate respectfully and effectively between departments to accomplish tasks related to project completion. • Maintain an orderly and clean work environment which includes tool box, test materials, carts, shop equipment and surrounding areas. • Be willing to travel to customer facilities when requested. • Comply with all safety policies and procedures. Electrical Engineer

JOB SUMMARY: The Electrical Engineer position is responsible for projects of average scope and complexity; often with little or no supervision for extended periods; including frequent interaction with internal associates, external customers, and suppliers. Primary focus includes machine design packages applying existing technology used within the company, with focus primarily on routine projects assigned within their own business unit. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned: • Steward our mission (to enrich lives by providing differentiated packaging automation and services) and values (unwavering integrity, servant’s heart, ownership spirit and continuous innovation and improvement). • Able to create electrical and pneumatic hardware design packages using existing technology used within the company. • Review, understand, and follow the design criteria outlined in the machine specification documents, including mechanical criteria that may affect the electrical and/or pneumatic design. • Follow all Douglas electrical standards including engineering and assembly standards, national codes (NEC, NFPA79 and UL508A), and any other applicable standards and codes. • Including the calculations for enclosure and raceway sizing, enclosure cooling, and machine utility requirements. • Generate the Bill of Material and related documentation for all assigned projects. • Including electrical schematics, pneumatics drawings, panel layout, cable routing, electrical brackets, cable/wire labels, phenolic tags, and machine floor plan information. • Maintain project schedules and completes assigned projects within allocated hours. • Travel to customer sites to resolve machine installation and/or commissioning problems. • Interact in a professional manner with internal associates, external customers, and suppliers to support all assigned projects throughout their design, manufacture, build, validation, and commissioning phases. • Identify opportunities for cost reductions and quality improvements in equipment. • Utilize corporate processes • Design and Development • Verification and Validation • Engineering Change Control • Risk Assessment for all machine designs • Douglas Improvement Projects • Responsible for complying with all safety policies and procedures. • Assist in the training of new employees.
