This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who is looking to elevate their craft, lead by example, and contribute to a team focused on redefining how homes are built. The ideal candidate will bring a solutions-oriented mindset, deep technical knowledge, and the ability to execute precision finish work both in the factory and on site. This role works closely with the Production Manager, Quality Control, and Site Teams to ensure the highest standards of workmanship are maintained throughout the entire construction process. Core Responsibilities: Execute detailed interior and exterior finish carpentry in factory-assembled modules and site installations Install custom and pre-fabricated cabinets, hardware, millwork, and architectural woodwork to precise specifications Perform advanced trim work including casing, baseboards, crown molding, paneling, and ceiling details Install doors, windows, stairs, and flooring to meet or exceed finish standards Coordinate and assist with siding installation, waterproofing, and air sealing within modular systems Conduct quality control inspections and troubleshoot fit/finish issues before shipping and during on-site installation Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve constructability challenges in modular design Train, mentor, and oversee junior carpenters and laborers in finish techniques, tool safety, and jobsite productivity Support on-site module installation and perform supplemental framing and finish work, including roof framing, truss rolling, and field-fit adjustments Maintain accurate documentation of field modifications and redlines for feedback into the prefab design loop Proactively identify material, tooling, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste Manage time, manpower, and materials effectively to ensure timely delivery and installation of finish packages Minimum Qualifications: Minimum 5+ years of experience in high-end finish carpentry; modular or panelized construction experience is strongly preferred Deep knowledge of residential building assemblies, code compliance, and moisture management best practices Advanced tool proficiency, including power and hand tools used in fine carpentry and modular installation Demonstrated leadership and coaching capabilities; able to train and lead small teams effectively Reliable transportation capable of carrying tools and materials between sites; clean driving record required Must own a complete set of finish carpentry tools and keep them in safe, working condition Strong work ethic, punctuality, and personal accountability Legally authorized to work in the U.S. Strong desire for professional growth, technical learning, and career advancement in an innovative construction environment Preferred Qualifications: Experience in modular, prefabricated, or offsite construction environments Working knowledge of CAD/shop drawings and architectural plan interpretation Cross-trade knowledge (e.g., light framing, cabinetry, drywall, or mechanical systems) OSHA 10/30 certification and knowledge of jobsite safety protocols We offer competitive compensation, advancement opportunities, and a dynamic work environment at the cutting edge of residential construction. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and well-rounded carpenter in both framing and finish work for our Lead Carpenter position in our small projects division for Santa Barbara area projects. Working closely with the Project Coordinators and Project Managers, on a variety of projects small residential project to: Fabricate, construct and repair structural woodwork and wood products by following blueprints, drawings, and instructions, using carpentry tools and equipment, may also assist in other skilled labor tasks as needed for the project.
