About the position Holder Construction is seeking a General Foreman for a project located in Kings Mountain, NC. The role of a Carpenter involves a variety of responsibilities centered around constructing and maintaining safety handrails, hole protection, steps, gang ladders, and temporary weather enclosures. Carpenters will also engage in tasks such as sawing, stripping, nailing, burning, measuring, and tightening or loosening bolts, as well as drilling and other duties as assigned by the supervisor. In addition to general carpentry tasks, the position requires knowledge and skills in concrete carpentry, including executing concrete forming and installing form systems. This includes the placement of concrete for various structures such as foundation footings, grade beams, columns, and wall formwork. Carpenters will work with different types of forms, including gang forms, stick builds, and slip forms. Responsibilities also include setting anchor bolt templates, rebar templates, erecting temporary handrails, and walk planks, along with associated safety-related items. Ideal candidates will have at least 3 years of construction experience, the ability to read basic drawings, and training in construction safety protocols such as OSHA 10, fall protection, and mobile elevated platform operation. This position will provide primary support to field supervision, requiring candidates to demonstrate ownership of assigned tasks, maintain professionalism, and utilize critical thinking to solve issues. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, along with strong time management skills. Candidates must be agile and mobile, able to stand or walk for long periods, and capable of lifting and carrying materials weighing between 50-100 lbs, 75% of the time. The role requires working in an OSHA compliant safety environment, often outdoors, and may involve overtime and weekend hours. Punctuality and promptness are essential.
