Daily Responsibilities: • Perform carpentry activities, primarily punch carpentry, including the installation and/or repair of interior trim, doors, bath/door hardware, and blinds. • Operate equipment such as nail guns, screw guns, saws, drills, and other tools required for this position. • Meet deadlines without compromising workmanship. • Review and implement work orders, conducting inspections to determine needed improvements. • Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Summary of Primary Functions: Builds form work used in BDS production and installs form work on beds. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Check Carpenter Shop Lead’s sketch or drawings of form work. • Carry Styrofoam, 2x4’s, PVC pipe, etc., into the Carpenter Shop. • Measure and mark forming material to correct dimensions. • Cut/saw forming materials to size on table saw, radial saw, or other equipment. • Cut/saw bevel in narrow or wide reveal. • Install reveals or other form work in BDS beds. • Repair, modify, or clean used form work to be salvaged for additional pours. • Clean up work area. Job Specifications or Qualifications: Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Concrete Finisher/Form Carpenter

Job Title: Concrete Finisher and Former Company: Capitol Construction Location: Greater Spartanburg Area Pay Rate: $14 - $18 per hour, depending on experience Employment Type: Full-time Job Description: Capitol Construction is currently seeking a skilled Concrete Finisher and Former to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in finishing and forming concrete surfaces, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. Responsibilities: • Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete, such as floors, walks, sidewalks, roads, or curbs using a variety of hand and power tools. • Align forms for sidewalks, curbs, or gutters; patch voids; and use saws to cut expansion joints. • Set forms to the desired pitch and depth and ensure they are properly constructed. • Spread, level, and smooth concrete using rakes, shovels, hand or power trowels, screeds, and floats. • Monitor environmental factors such as wind, heat, or cold to ensure proper curing of the concrete. • Direct the casting of concrete and supervise laborers. • Produce rough concrete surfaces using brooms. • Mold expansion joints and edges using appropriate tools. • Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure and waterproof surfaces. • Operate power vibrators to compact concrete. • Repair damaged concrete areas by cutting out damaged sections and installing reinforcing rods. • Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills, and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete. • Fabricate concrete beams, columns, and panels as required. Requirements: • Previous experience as a concrete finisher and former. • Ability to operate a curb machine is a plus. • Knowledge of setting forms, aligning them properly, and inspecting completed work. • Proficiency in using hand and power tools commonly used in concrete finishing. • Understanding of concrete curing processes and environmental factors affecting curing. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Physical stamina and strength to handle the demands of the job. • Willingness to work in various weather conditions and environments.
