Position Title: Welder Fitter Wage: $25-$29/hour Shift: 1st, 2nd Hours: 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm QPS Employment Group is hiring experienced Welders at a company in Waukesha, WI. Welder Fitter Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Safely operate all tube welding mills to exceed or meet productivity and quality expectations, along with setup and adjusting of all continuous tube weld mills - Perform the Standard Work Instructions SWI’s for the Welding Department - Advise and assist welding operators on mill operations, setups, and adjustments, may make periodic inspection checks to determine the type of adjustments; operate any welder temporarily for relief purposes - Complete destructive and nondestructive tube quality checks as required and necessary - Prepare various rolls, clamps, bars, and mandrels for changeovers or replacement - Maintain correct and continuous supply of strip steel from storage area to welder - Install and recondition electrodes - Maintain perishable tooling and supplies as needed for the mill Welder Fitter Requirements: - High school diploma or general education degree GED - Demonstrate strong general mechanical skills - Occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds - Stand, walk, use hands, handle/feel objects, tools, or controls for up to 8 hours a day - Welder-related experience preferred - Must be trainable and demonstrate acceptable levels of comprehension of the inspection processes - Able to use measuring equipment, including micrometers and tape measure QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States. Wildeck, a Holden Industries, Inc., company Department: Manufacturing Position reports to: Manufacturing Supervisor Summary: Welds metal components together with gas welding equipment to fabricate miscellaneous parts such as platforms, stair rail assemblies, slide gates, power slide gates, swing gates, ladders, caged ladders, platform and stair columns, main structural I beams, structural vertical columns and knee braces from blue prints and shop drawings by performing the following duties. Job Duties: • Weld metal parts together using both gas welding and any combination of arc welding processes. • Perform related tasks such as thermal cutting, drilling, shearing, punch pressing and de-burring. • Repair broken or cracked parts, fill holes and increase size of metal parts. • Position and clamp together components of fabricated metal parts preparatory to welding. • Lift heavy objects by hand or with power hoist/crane. • Must be able to operate a fork lift and overhead hoist/crane. • Perform assigned duties following safe manufacturing processes and conform to shop safety rules. • Follow good housekeeping practices in keeping work area clean. • Other duties may be assigned. Requirements: • One-year certificate from college or technical school in welding or one to two years' experience and/or welding training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have basic computer skills in a windows environment/ERP system. • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
