Main Duties: The Maintenance Welder reports to and works under the general supervision of the Maintenance Foremen or Maintenance Group Leader and under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor or company weld inspectors. Work may be performed with guidance and help from the class A welder. This job requires assisting with, or performing, all types of maintenance and construction welding including SMAW for structural and carbon steel pipe, GTAW for stainless steel pipe, and MIG for ductwork and sheet metal fabrication. Must be able to pass the state welding exam for structural steel and Plenco procedures for pipe welding. Qualifications: 3-5 years of industrial welding experience. Must be able to pass the WI state welding exam for structural steel and company procedures for pipe welding. See More Details >>Key Responsibilities Perform general manufacturing processes which may include the following. • Work from complex blueprints, sketches, weld symbols, and process sheets to establish procedures and sequence of operations; perform setups of tooling and fixtures, as well as layouts of components to be welded. • Identify and/or devise basic tooling. • Weldment must meet quality standards. • Perform own material handling and follow good housekeeping and safety practices. • Maintain welding equipment and work area for a safe and efficient operation. • Initiate corrective action to resolve fairly complex problems, and report major malfunctions and continuing difficulties to supervisor. • Assist others as directed. Perform other miscellaneous duties as required. . • Press buttons, pull levers, or depress pedals to start and operate cutting and slicing machines. • Adjust machine controls to alter position, alignment, speed, or pressure. The position requires the employee to stand and/or sit for long periods and to lift up to 50# frequently. Qualifications Must be a high school graduate or equivalent. Must have production welding experience in a manufacturing environment. Candidates will be asked to demonstrate welding proficiency.
